Some plasma televisions are works of art in and of themselves and to hide them would be a shame. But most aren't so fabulous and are better kept out of sight when not in use. We have seen some interesting things that have designs inspired by DNA, but the DNA Gloframe actually turns DNA into a work of art. The designer, DNA 11, will use a sample of your own genetic code for the piece so that your Gloframe will truly be unique to you. The frame is about 1-inch thick and looks similar to a plasma screen TV, with a proprietary backlighting technology that ensures an even lighting throughout the piece. There are seven color tints available, if the standard green hue strikes you as resembling a prop in a science fiction movie. Price: $900 (small) or $1,300 (large).

The TV Wars of CES

One of the reasons we love watching the news coming out of CES is the one-upsmanship from the various companies. The TV wars are in full effect. Samsung debuted their 102" plasma TV only to be immediately upstaged by Matsushita's 103" version. How big is too big? We are not sure but it will be interesting to see how interior designers try to accommodate these monster designs in home decor.
