Lagerfeld Launches 2011 Pirelli Calendar with Julianne Moore

Actress Juliane Moore and several naked supermodels, including serial nudist Daria Werbowy, Isabeli Fontana, Lara Stone, Erin Wasson, Natasha Poly and more appear in the just-unveiled 2011 Pirelli calendar photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. For the first time, thanks to Lagerfeld's influence and the Greek and Roman Mythology-theme of the shoot, which took place at Lagerfeld's studio in Paris, male models appear in the famed flesh fantasia as well this year. "It's my favourite religion: a god for everything," Lagerfeld tells Vogue UK regarding the calendar's theme. "I am a polytheist. I prefer mythology without hell, no sin – an obstacle to happiness – without forgiveness. I love goddesses because they were the first liberated women, who were entitled to everything. The goddesses and the muses are feminists!"

Pirelli PZero Disk_O

Pirelli may be best known for making tires, but the Italian rubber company is as well known for everything from clothing and sneakers to racy calendars and films. The latest addition to the PZero collection is a wristwatch called the Disk_O, and as you can see, its design is dominated by an automotive brake motif.

The anodized aluminum bezel, styled after a brake disc, rotates through the caliper, and like the brakes on some higher-end supercars, the caliper – from which the pushbuttons for the Swiss quartz chronograph movement jut out – can be ordered in different colors: red, yellow, black or steel gray. And of course it's affixed to the wrist with a rubber strap, styled in this case after the racing slicks Pirelli is now producing for Formula One.

Ferrari Unveils the 458 Challenge for Gentleman Racers

Opinion is divided as regards the styling of Ferrari's newest model, the 458 Italia. Regardless of your views vis-a-vis its aesthetic shortcomings, it's hard to argue that the famed marque's just-unveiled Challenge version of the supercar is a real looker. The track-only berlinetta is slated to compete alongside its predecessor the F430 Challenge in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli's 2011 season. In order to lower the vehicle's weight and get the most from its 570 hp V8 engine, Ferrari engineers reduced the thickness of the bodyshell panels using carbon fiber and tweaked the gearbox. As with previous Challenge models the 458 version will be available to both gentleman racers and pros with "the time and money to drive the car during race weekends on the world's leading circuits."

Terry Richardson Shoots the 2010 Pirelli Calendar

For the past 40 years, Italian tire company Pirelli has issued a limited-edition calendar to a select list of VIPs - the kind who have fleets of Pirelli-shod Ferraris - featuring scores of nude supermodels. As we reported back in December, the 2009 Pirelli Calendar features an African theme and was shot in Botswana by famed photographer Peter Beard with models including the stunning Isabeli Fontana, Malgosia Bela, Daria Werbowy and Raquel Zimmermann (along with a fleet of agreeable elephants and not a lot of clothes).

The 2010 calendar was just shot by fashionably perverted lensman Terry Richardson in Brazil with a whole new crop of beauties, including stunning upper class British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (above), who's said to be related to the Queen of England. Huntington-Whitely has sizzled before in campaigns for the likes of Agent Provocateur and Burberry. They always feature plenty of nude and semi-nude supermodels. The 2009 Pirelli Calendar has an African theme and was shot in Botswana by famed photographer Peter Beard with models including the stunning Isabeli Fontana, Malgosia Bela, Daria Werbowy and Raquel Zimmermann, along with a fleet of agreeable elephants and not a lot of clothes. Unless you're on the list, getting your hands on an actual calendar may be difficult, but check out the gallery for a preview.
