Chocolate Pencils

Years ago I used to have a nasty habit of chewing on my pens and pencils, and although I've since broken that habit I know I can expect a serious relapse if I ever own a set of these chocolate pencils by Nendo. The pencils come in a set that includes a variety of different cocoa blends so you'll have the perfect flavor (and color) to top whatever it is you're garnishing, plus a pencil sharpener for easy and perfectly shaped shavings every time. Sounds like a perfect gift for the chef or hostess that already seems to have everything!

The Pencil Bench

The Pencil Bench, created by Boex on a whim after a conversation about whether everyday objects could be made into furniture, not only makes sitting on pencils fun but also (dare I say) comfortable? It sounds nice and cushy considering each of the 1600 pencils is individually sprung. And, should you need to write something each of those same pencils can be removed and used. Do you think they come pre-sharpened?

The Pencil Bench isn't in production right now, but I have a hard time believing it won't be soon. What a fun accent item in an office at work or home!

Dransfield & Ross Crocodile Pencils

Remember when pencils were made out of wood and cost about $2 for a box of 20? Well, upgrade that boring writing utensil of yesteryear for a more modern and luxurious alternative. Set your eyes on Dransfield & Ross Crocodile Embossed Pencils. It doesn't write in gold and the eraser isn't made from suede - I wonder if that would even erase anything? - but at $27 for a box of 6, this is an investment for pencils. I can't remember when last I even paid for a pencil. However, for the school supply enthusiast, myself included, this could make for an unexpected and fun gift. Available in black, brown, cordovan, green and blue.

Matitoni Clothes and Hat Stand

I think one of the biggest reasons I wanted to write this Matitoni Clothes and Hat Stand up is because not only is it hilariously huge, but it seems to go along with the over-sized Anglepoise 1227 lamp I posted on a few days ago. You could have the beginnings of a very interesting decorating scheme in your child's bedroom or playroom.

Made to order, this clothes stand is designed by Philippe Peyridieu and manufactured by Banal Extra. It's made of steel and is 180cm tall, and comes in the one color scheme shown here. £250
