Chlo Saskia Patchwork Pouchette, Handbag of the Day

This Chloé Saskia Patchwork Pouchette is the epitome of summer bags for me because it makes me think of summer smoothies and/or ice cream. And it's so hot as I'm writing this that either of those (or both...) would totally hit the spot right now! Made of leather in shades of white, beige, apricot, and hot pink, it features a large loop handle, logo buckle detail, and a neutral beige lining (bummer, I was hoping for more apricot on the inside) with an interior zip pocket. $1,560

Dolce & Gabbana Miss Pocket Patchwork Snakeskin Bag, Handbag of the Day

Bright and cheerful, the Miss Pocket Patchwork Snakeskin North/South Bag by Dolce & Gabbana will go with almost any outfit (probably best on solid colors though) and in my opinion fits in during any season. Made in Italy of genuine snakeskin with suede trim, it has silver hardware, a fine textile lining, and a suede patch embossed with "Miss Pocket" on the inside. It also has short leather handles and a longer shoulder strap (both detachable), plus an engraved nameplate that dangles on the outside of the bag. $3,995

Exclusive Louis Vuitton Handbag Heading to Washington

An exclusive Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork handbag, one of only 24 in the world and 5 in North America (we know Beyonce has one), is on its way to Washington by the end of the season for a very special, unnamed, client. We here at Luxist first covered the Tribute Patchwork back in March, and since then it's been making quite the name for itself. As one of the most expensive handbags in the world, the Tribute Patchwork has become this summer's ultimate status bag. Priced at $52,500 and made from best parts of 14 other LV bags, it easily overshadows the competition in originality, style, and class.

Patchwork

Patchwork patterns evoke comfort immediately, in part due to their homey look (even if your grandmother wasn't the quilting type) and in part because patchwork things are almost always soft and plush. This chair, simply titled Patchwork, uses rich fabrics in variously sized pieces that are cobbled together on a lounge that demands to be curled up in. It was designed by Thien and My Ta Trung and measures 30"W x 39"W x 24"H. Price: $2,000.

Nanette Lepore Patchwork Bag, Handbag of the Day

There are several important qualities to look for in a messenger bag, including size and shape, but the most important one is how much you're going to carry it. If you're going to take it with you, filled up with useful books, papers, etc., it needs to be comfortable to carry on your shoulder and Nanette Lepore's Patchwork Bag is comfortable as well as stylish. Handmade from velvet with a velvet strap, the patchwork bag is very soft, with a vintage pattern that manages to match its look with the bag's feel. The colors are bright and accented with beautiful embroidery, but tempered by muted tan and olive tones, so the bag can be used in both professional and casual situations. Price: $190.
