Orlando Bloom's Home Robbed

orlando bloomActor Orlando Bloom has become the latest celebrity burglary victim. His Hollywood Hills home was recently broken into and the LA Times is reporting that thieves walked away with around $500,000 in jewelry, cash and artwork. Bloom is out of town but a relative discovered the break-in on Wednesday. Bloom is far from the first star to be the victim of a house robbery. Thieves absconded with around $2 million in jewelry from Paris Hilton's home last year.

Orlando Bloom's Rolex Collection for Sale

Filed under: Timepieces, Auctions, Celebrity Shopping, Charity

Three amazing Rolex watches from the collection of actor Orlando Bloom are included in Antiquorum's Important Collectors' Wristwatches auction in New York on June 11. Our favorite is this fine and rare 1973 Explorer II "Steve McQueen" model, highly prized by Rolex aficionados, which Bloom wore on a leather cuff bracelet, estimated at $10,000 - $15,000, though we expect it to fetch considerably more. There's also a black PVD-coated steel Milgauss anti-magnetic chronometer produced in 2008, estimated at $10,000 - $15,000, and a cool 1969 Explorer, estimated at only $3,000 - $4,000. All of Bloom's watches come accompanied by an autographed copy of the auction catalog, and he is donating part of the proceeds to UNICEF.

$12,000 Pilot's Watch Made from Fighter Plane Parts

British luxury watch brand Bremont's new pilot's watch, the EP120, is made with parts of a famous RAF 1942 Spitfire Mk V fighter plane which shot down six enemy aircraft on a single day during WWII. Original pieces of the Spitfire, which has been featured in films such as The Battle of Britain, salvaged during restoration, are incorporated into the EP120's dial and movement. The limited edition timepiece, which has already been spotted on the wrists of Bremont fans like Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor, costs about $12,600 and will be available in September.
