Bentley Continental Platinum GTO by Onyx Concept

Custom luxury and performance automobiles come from around the world, with some of the best hailing from such locations as Germany, Japan and Italy. Ireland may not be the first place that comes to mind, but Onyx Concept is working to change that with the release of their new Platinum GTO.

Starting with the Bentley Continental GT, Onyx has boosted output up from 553 horsepower to beyond 640, mounted a new sport suspension and fitted 22-inch wheels. A full body kit gives the Platinum GTO a new front end – complete with LED daytime running lights and a carbon fiber splitter – while around back there's a decklid spoiler and diffuser also made from carbon fiber.

No pricing has been announced, but deliveries are expected to begin next month.

No need for bight colors or flashy hardware here. This one is all about texture, with ostrich, lizard and linen coexisting nicely in this chic little clutch. An oxidized silver clasp frames a beautifully simple faceted black onyx on the outer flap. Underneath is another flap pocket and open access to the interior of the bag, which is lined and has one zippered pocket. The clutch converts easily to a shoulder bag with two clips hidden discreetly under the flap. Cool sophistication such as this does not come cheap. $1995.

Frank Gehry 7-Fish Necklace

Frank Ghery's jewelry designs are as unique and interesting as his architectural masterpieces. Ghery is currently being sued by Circa Publishing Enterprises over this line of jewelry he created for Tiffany & Co. Claiming it had exclusive rights to produce, distribute and sell the Frank Ghery Collection, Circa is demanding half the proceeds from the sales. But let's just focus on the jewelry, shall we? The collection includes necklaces, rings, bracelets and even tabletop items. The 7-Fish necklace is my favorite. Modern fish shapes created from sterling silver, onyx, nephrite green jade and acacia and pernambuco woods hang from a 16" silver cord like fish on a line. The result is a striking and totally unique piece of jewelry. Available only at Tiffany & Co., this necklace sells for $1,500.

PebbleArt Illuminated Chess Tables

Ever since I saw the light-up tables from Thiessen Design at CA Boom, I've been on a light-up kick. PebbleArt does light-up onyx coffee tables but they also do cool chess set tables that use back lit translucent onyx with a shadow square design. The chess sets come with glass pieces and are available in a variety of onyx surfaces and woof finishes. The tables sell for $174.95.
