Moving Up In The Hollywood Hills, Estate of the Day
Filed under: Estates, Celebrity Shopping
A behind-the-scenes Hollywood couple is moving up in the hills. The LA Times Hot Property column reports that Noreen Halpern, executive producer of HBO's "Hung," and her husband, Kevin Murphy, the Emmy-winning writer and producer of "Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical," recently purchased bestselling biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli'sSpanish-style compound in the Hollywood Hills for $3.1 million. That means they have to sell their own Hollywood Hills hideaway which is located nearby. Their home is an English country-style charmer built in 1927.
As Murphy tells the LA Times, the home looks like a simple cottage from the street but is actually a multi-level home with a canyon view. The home has a living room with coved ceilings, fireplace with brick accents, hardwood floors and a private reading cove. The dining room faces an outdoor patio and the kitchen has updated stainless steel appliances. The master bedroom is located on the top level of the home for the best views. The grounds include a hot tub but no pool which is one of the reasons the couple is moving on. Property records sourced on Property Shark show that the pair paid $1.125 million in 2004. They have listed the home for $1.195 million. The property website is here.
