Nick Lachey Lists Bel-Air Home

nick lacheyWhen Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson broke up he moved from the Mediterranean McMansion he shared with his wife to an ultra-contemporary Bel Air home that he bought from Seal and Heidi Klum. He bought the house in 2006 for $5 million (Seal and Heidi Klum had paid around $4.3 million in 2005). Now the property is back on the market.

The Real Estalker reports that the ridge-top mansion has four bedrooms. The interior is bright and modern with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. I seem to recall that the listing pictures from the previous time it was on the market featured white walls and contemporary art. This time we get dark stained hardwood floors, brown walls and sports memorabilia hanging on the walls. The bachelor pad has a pool table, large media room, family room with wet bar and a gourmet kitchen. The large outdoor entertainment area includes a pool with a spa, chaise lounges and a sunken bar that allows swimmers to get a cocktail without leaving the pool. This time the house is listed at $6.8 million.

Lindsay Lohan's NYC Apt. for Sale

Lindsay Lohan's former Manhattan pied-a-terre, in the Atelier building on West 42nd St., is on the market for $1.25 million. The 40th floor aerie features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows with an unobstructed view of the Empire State Building, marble baths, stone countertops and an open chef's kitchen, NBC New York reports. Though the actress' reps insist she never spent much time there, the listing circulated by the realty company notes she spent $100,000 on luxe upgrades for the pad. And last year she gave Extra an exclusive tour of the apartment and the building, telling them "the security is fantastic here which I think is really important".

Lohan also hosted a photo exhibit and auction there benefiting the American Red Cross. The Atelier's amenities include a white marble lobby, exclusive full basketball and volleyball courts, a rooftop Sky Lounge with a billiards table, a landscaped sun deck, and a fitness and yoga center with an indoor swimming pool. Nick Lachey and gal pal Vanessa Minnillo also own a condo there. Lohan's apartment had originally been listed at $1.3 million but has already been reduced by $50,000. She may have originally been given use of the apartment for free in exchange for promoting the building.

V8 Make Every Serving Count, Charity of the Day

Filed under: Charity of the Day

The other day I saw Nick Lachey on TV promoting his recent support of V8's new charitable program, Make Every Serving Count, that donates to Feeding America (which was formally known as America's Second Harvest). His involvement in this worthy campaign certainly gives it some celebrity-level press which never hurts. Truthfully, I am really surprised this partnership didn't happen before with the need to feed so many Americans who are experiencing tough times and the human need for vegetables in order to lead healthier lives.

It's easy to be involved -- just purchase any V8 products which will support the company's $1 million pledge. Plus, you can donate directly online -- a mere $25 donation can provide either 850 servings of vegetables, 98 meals for a family of four, or nineteen weeks worth of food per person. Of course donating non-perishable items to local foodbanks is always a great way to lend a hand.

The World's Most Expensive Hot Wheel Car

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Hot Wheels is celebrating the brand's 40-year heritage at the 105th American International Toy Fair by showing off a custom jeweled 1:64-scale Hot Wheels car, designed by celebrity jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills. The one-of-a-kind car is the most expensive in Hot Wheels history and was made to commemorate the production of the 4 billionth Hot Wheels vehicle. The car has more than 2,700 tiny diamonds for a total of nearly 23 carats worth $140,000. The car is cast in 18K white gold detailed with micro pave-set brilliant blue diamonds. Under the hood the engine is decorated with pave-set white and black diamonds. Red rubies are set as the tail lights, while black diamonds and red enamel create the "red line" tires and the custom-made case that houses the jewel-encrusted vehicle also holds 40 individual white diamonds, one each year in the legacy of Hot Wheels. The vehicle was unveiled by Nick Lachey and in late 2008 the car will be auctioned off to benefit Lachey's charity of choice, Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Newlyweds House Sold

Wow, that was fast, The "Newlyweds" home of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey went on the block recently and it has already been sold. ABC News reports that the home is being bought by "Malcolm in the Middle" teen actor Justin Berfield. We've seen plenty of real estate activity from Frankie Muniz, who is on the same TV show but this is the first time we've seen Berfield in the real estate game. The home was for sale for $3.75 million but it hasn't been revealed what Berfield paid for it. No doubt his investment will pay off in young ladies eager to hang out at Jessica Simpson's former home.
