On its sale page this Tillie Leather Bag from Mulberry is described as "an enviable off-duty look" but I think it looks very much like an on-duty bag, with its simple but interesting puffed up briefcase styling and exaggerated goldtone buckles. It also has rivet details on the sides and a little studded tab decor on the back, plus a single short top handle and a detachable cross-body shoulder strap. Under the fold-over front with magnetic closure it has an interior lining of designer-stamped black twill and both patch and zip pockets. $1,175

The Mulberry Bayswater Bag gets the exotic glam treatment in golden metallic python skin. The iconic bag has all the usual features with its soft box shape, double top handles, short fold-over top, designer-embossed turnlock fastening, and somewhat conspicuous lack of a shoulder strap. It's also expandable via hidden buckles on either side and has my favorite little protective feet on the bottom, plus a little padlock and keys tag. Aside from the brown suede lining everything on this bag is gold so it's a love it or hate it creation. $4,000

The Alexa bag gets a pretty upgrade in light neutral "powder" colored leather finished with a sparkle tweed treatment. I cover a lot of versatile neutrals in the handbag world and this Lily Leopard-Print Shoulder Bag by Mulberry certainly isn't one of them. It's red suede with a metallic red leather leopard print for a bright burst of cherry red appeal. Silvertone hardware in the form of a large twist-lock closure on the front fold-over flap and a leather-woven chain shoulder strap that can be worn off the shoulder or crossbody style make for nice contrast, plus a keyfob dangling off one side adds a extra interest. Mulberry Mitzy Tote, Handbag of the Day

A classic, simple, slightly masculine bag, this Mulberry Mitzy Tote leather bag certainly seems functional and will go with almost anything. It's even convertible -- changing from a shorter, wider bag meant to be worn cross-body to a taller tote bag meant to be carried by hand. Super soft oak-pebbled leather in a rich brown is accented with matte goldtone hardware and dark chocolate colored handles and shoulder strap. Fastens with either a magnetic stud closure or zipper, and is lined in beige canvas. An great bag but I'd prefer it in a different color myself. $750

Apple Accessories Get an Upgrade from Mulberry

Every once in a while a design pairing is initiated that really works. It is no surprise that the new collection Mulberry has unveiled for Mac products falls into this category. Mulberry Creative Director, Emma Hill, is a Mac user herself and in a press release stated that she is "thrilled to launch our first collection for a whole host of Apple products including the MacBook, iphone and iPod." Consumers most likely will be excited as well when they see the marriage of Mulberry craftsmanship and practical solutions to keeping one's electronics protected without losing anything in the style department.

The collection features nine pieces including MacBook and MacBook Pro bags and sleeves as well as cross-bags for the iPhone or iPod touch. They have kept the exteriors of some of the most iconic Mulberry designs, including the Bayswater for women and the Brynmore for men, and adapted the interiors with features such as padding, pockets and headphone access. Some of the smaller items in the collection feature a bold smugged leopard print while the larger bags sport Mulberry's classic natural leathers.

Prices range from $250 - $1195 and the bags are currently in stores and available online after December 1st. It is not startling to see good creative ideas for accessories from Emma Hill who has previously worked her magic with Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and The Gap. Those of you who are Mac aficionados still traipsing around with a ratty backpack or generic black shoulder bag should definitely look twice at this collection. Quite possibly it is time for an upgrade that has nothing to do with the software on your computer.

I have a love/hate relationship with clear handbags -- on one hand they're very cute, springy, and and it's especially easy to find things in them. But on the other hand I often feel self-conscious about what I'm keeping in my bag since everyone can see (tampons anyone?) and every little bit of interior dust and grunge shows up so easily in the crevices of the bag's bottom. However you feel about them, though, this clear vinyl tote by Mulberry features some cute illustrations by artist Julie Verhoeven. $175

Mulberry Mix Material "Jenah" Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

The Mulberry Mix Material "Jenah" Shoulder Bag is a bold accessory for only the classiest of dames.

Bags this glamorous and opulent are difficult to wear correctly, but the cracked metallic leather, suede, and tumbled sheepskin in silvers and creams are irresistible. The pale colors are accented with pale gold hardware (very smart -- this purse is wearable with gold or silver jewelry) and little side straps which literally "belt" the purse to help it keep its shape.

The bag is 12.5"W x 9"H x 3"D, and should be worn with pale colors or dark prints like a rich blue and green plaid. Don't wear it with bright colors, it will look tacky.

The Mulberry Mix Material "Jenah" Shoulder Bag is available from Bloomingdales for $1,150.

Mulberry Launches U.S. Website, Offers Its Bayswater Bags Exclusively

In an effort to reach more of its loyal American fan base, British handbag designer Mulberry has launched a U.S.-dedicated website where devoted shoppers can snap up its iconic bags.

One such design, the popular Bayswater (above), will be available in four jewel-toned ostrich shades exclusively to American shoppers through the new site. Each bag is a limited edition piece and retails for $3,995.

If you can't justify the splurge, try using the site's wish list feature so someone else might.

Mulberry Mirrored Bayswater Bag, Handbag of the Day

Back in 2006 we covered the original Bayswater Bag from Mulberry and now we have an updated mirrored version. Flashy and bright, this bag is not for the timid (well, unless you're looking to get seriously bolder) and although it now had gold mirrored leather the bag still comes with all the great features of the original including my favorite: the flap closure with buckle that can be locked with the tiny padlock that comes conveniently hidden in the pouch charm that hangs off the handle (whether you use it or not miniature padlocks are always fun!). They show it here with a fall/winter outfit but I think metallics can be pulled off in any season. $1,595

Mulberry Milton Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

The shiny spot on the front of this Mulberry Milton Shoulder Bag is supposed to look like the leather is worn, but I'm not buying it -- to me it totally looks like it's been artificially shined up. But the emerald buffed metallic leather is right in line with this season's bright citrusy colors, and its two front pockets with double twist clasp closure, zip top and generous size make it a versatile as well as fashionable (if you like the shiny spot) for a cute summer dress or a t-shirt and jeans. $1,595

Just in Time for Valentines: The Mulberry Roxanne Bag from Gap

Previously released this past December in the UK and Paris, a newly redesigned version of Mulberry's Roxanne bag is now being launched here in the U.S., just in time for Valentine's Day. The result of a collaboration between the Mulberry brand and fashion stylist Katie Grand, the Mulberry Roxanne bag is part of Gap's (PRODUCT) RED (TM) line and is made of sweatshirt jersey in either red or gray. What better gift this season of love than a beautiful red bag that sends 50% of its profits towards to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa?
