A British Entrepreneur Bets Big On Grenada
Filed under: Real Estate Developments

British entrepreneur Peter de Savary, founder of the St. James Clubs and the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, has big plans for the island of Grenada. He is currently developing a $500 million project that includes the Mount Cinnamon Grenada at Grand Anse Beach resort. The resort is located on the southwest part of the island near the village of Port Louis, another Peter de Savary project which features a marina able to accommodate large yachts. The residence part of the project at Mount Cinnamon is underway with 21 furnished homes completed and another 20 to be built in phase two. Many of the villas have been purchased and are available for rent. The development will also have a 125-room beachfront hotel and condo complex. The Savvy clubhouse is now open and includes an Italian restaurant, a pool, tennis courts, a gym and rooms for spa treatments. Peter de Savary sees Grenada as the next St. Tropez and has spent the last couple of years flying in journalists from around the world to show them the island's unique charm.
Travelers be warned however, as our sister blog Gadling recently reported, Grenada is cracking down on indecent exposure and doesn't take kindly to tourists wandering through town in just their bathing suits.
