The Motorola RAZR LK

Despite being out of the spotlight lately, Motorola hasn't given up on the RAZR and they've released a new, luxe model of the popular phone called the Motorola RAZR LúK. It's only available in one color but we think you won't mind since it's classic pearl white combined with equally classic (and shiny!) 18k gold plating. The phone's shape, keyplate, and flip design all remain unchanged but the interior specs of this 3G model are updated with HSDPA connectivity, video calling, bluetooth, and pretty much everything else you'd expect in a RAZR. I love it.

Now that's a phone. The $2,000 Motorola Aura is here, and lookalikes are bound to follow.

The Aura has the world's first circular display with 16 million colors and a 300 dpi resolution. The lens isn't just scratch resistant, it's Grade 1 62-carat sapphire crystal. All the usual technologies (2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Open Source browser) are included in this sleek, attractive 47.60 x 96.87 x 18.55mm phone.

Blackberries are for assistants.

Just in time for the holidays, you can order one now to be shipped out December 4th.

Porsche Designs Mobile Phone

We never thought a phone could look fast, but Porsche seems to have accomplished just that. The squarish clamshell contraption you see in the photo is the company's newest design, a cell phone it developed in cooperation with Sagem Communications.

The P'9521, launched at the Red Dot Museum in Essen, offers up a 3.2 megapixel digital camera, 320 x 240 pixel touchscreen display, high-speed internet access and MP3 capability. While we're not sure if or when the phone will hit the market, it's no doubt that the Porsche name will send this phone a long way toward marketing success.

The Diamond-Studded Gold Motorola V3i

Peter Aloisson has released a new design in the "way too expensive and over-the-top" cell phone category: the diamond studded gold Motorola V3i. The golden stainless steel case is hand-set with 855 diamonds, totaling 3.8 carats altogether. Of course it comes with all the same cool features as the regular Motorola V3i, and sells for a mere $10,000.

So, when this phone is obsolete a few months from now, what happens to all those little diamonds?

Aloisson Goes KRZRy

I think of the many phone designers in the world the one I would most like to have coffee with is Peter Aloisson. Preferably in his office where I could perhaps slip a prototype into my purse. Aloisson, a self-designated "add-on-artist" has lent his spangle-loving talents to new versions of the Motorola KRZR. Three are three versions, the KRZR White, KRZR Leopard and KRZR Roma. Dripping in diamonds, the phones don't have a price but given his previous work, I'm thinking six figures at least.

Audex Ordinance Hat

Some ski resorts that offer night skiing also play music over the slopes, giving the whole activity a completely different feel than daytime skiing. If you want to listen to music as you cruise down the mountain during the day, you'll have to wire your iPod up through your jacket or try to fit headphones under or around your hat and goggles. The Audex Ordinance Hat, from Motorola, is a padded hat with built-in Bluetooth headphones that can be set up to work with any wireless music device, allowing you to listen to music while participating in your favorite winter activities. Because they are wireless, there is no risk of getting anything caught up in a cord while you ski (or snowboard). They can be configured to answer calls and have a wind-resistant microphone built-in, too, so you won't have to take your gloves off on the slopes to search for your mobile phone in a pocket. It is available in black and white. Price: $180.

Motorola Project Red Slvr

Forget the pink Slvr, Motorola has just announced the red Slvr which is not only attractive, it's part of the Project Red Campaign led by Bono. A percentage of the profits from each red Moto Slvr phone goes to  The Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. Also every time you use the phone a portion of your normal charges are also donated. It's available in the U.K. and should come to the States later this year. You can sign up for the wait list here.

Motorola Pink SLVR Phone

Yet another pink phone hits the market. Motorola and Carphone Warehouse in the UK to launch have launched a limited edition Pink Motorola SLVR L6.  The shade is similar to Verizon pink Razr only perhaps a bit more bubble gum. Our siblings at Engadget Mobile covered this a few days ago and the commenters definitely think the shade is particularly noxious. Still, I bet there are a lot of pink phones fans here in the States that will be clamoring for this one.

Pininfarina To Make Phones For Motorola

Italian design firm Pininfarina will create mobile phones for Motorola over the next few years. Pininfarina, famed for sleek sportscar designs for Ferrari and Maserati, the latest Olympic torch (shown here) and much more will dedicate a team of ten to the project. The deal runs from March 2006 to March 2009. Will they out-sexy the Razr? Who knows but maybe this means I can finally have my dream of a Ferrari red phone.

The Latest Motorola Razr: Pale Blue

This is perhaps the least interesting Razr color yet. Shiny Shiny has pictures of a a pale blue Razr that Motorola has released. While it was easy to imagine the markets for the pink Razr and the gold Razr, this one probably won't cause a where can I buy it frenzy. What color Razr would you most like to see? I'd be a sucker for a Ferrari red version.
