Cardigrae VI Sinks

BYM News reports the sad news that the Cardigrae VI, a classic megayacht, sank on Friday in the harbor of Saint Maria di Leuca in Italy. There had been a fire onboard. Local authorities worked to contain the pollution following the leaking of the boat's oil. The fire was caused by a short circuit and burned for almost 10 hours weakening the yacht until it sank. The boat was towed into the Italian port after being severely damaged by fire while cruising off the Italian coast. The 130-foot motoryacht was built in 1962 by Camper and Nicholsons. You can see interior pictures of the yacht as she was before the fire at the Camper and Nicholsons website.
