Moschino Designs For Coca-Cola

This Carmen-Miranda-like bottle is the latest makeover of the iconic curvy Coca-Cola bottle. Rossella Jardini at Moschino designed this contribution to the Tribute To Fashion charity project for the Abruzzo Region, a project organized by Coca-Cola Italia in conjunction with the Municipality of Milan.

The Coca-Cola Light bottle is decked out in cotton sleeves, a polka-dotted flounced skirt and tiny red earrings.
Eight female designers designed sleeves for a limited amount of "Coca-Cola Light" bottles that are being sold currently. Donatella Versace, Alberta Ferretti, Anna Molinari from Blumarine, Veronica Etro, Silvia Venturini Fendi, Marni's Consuelo Castiglioni and Angela Missoni were the other designers chosen. The bottles actually walked the runway at Fashion Week in Milan. Proceeds will be used by The Abruzzo Charity Project to help people/families affect by the earthquake their last year.

Moschino's Milan Hotel

The latest designer to have a hotel concept will be Moschino. The Maison Moschino will be located in Milan, Italy in the old neoclassical railway station on Viale Monte Grappa. The four-story building will hold 54 rooms and 15 suites each with its own unique look. Rossella Jardini and the Moschino creatives are designing the space themselves with whimsical fairy-tale rooms like the petal bedroom shown at right. The hotel will also have a bar, restaurant, gym and spa. Opening is planned for 2009.

UNICEF, Charity of the Day

Filed under: Timepieces, Auctions, Charity of the Day

UNICEF is a well-known charitable organization that promotes the health and well-being of children with HIV and AIDS. And this season fashion house Moschino has collaborated with UNICEF and come up with a beautiful way to raise funds: The Love Clock.

It's a clear plexiglass "doll" with a bright red heart in the center where the clock hands are centered, and the design is the result of 70 Italian artists and designers gathering together in collaboration. The clock will go up for auction on December 18th at Sothebys and all proceeds will go to benefit UNICEF.

If you can't make the auction (or if you make it there but you lose the bidding) and you still want to support UNICEF you can do it any number of ways -- including through these darling seasonal cards.

Moschino Floral Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

At first glance, this bag looks busy and perhaps too over-the-top to be an appropriate accessory for most outfits, but upon closer inspection, the Moschino Floral Shoulder Bag is not overwhelming at all. Made of supple leather in either red or tan, the flowers are large, casual spirals that would go well with a relatively plain outfit, where they might add a bit of glamour to the look in the same way that a corsage might dress up eveningwear. It looks much better in red than in tan, as tan flowers are quite unappealing. Price: $895.
