Boulder Amps

Rich Maez, the director of Boulder Amplifiers, sent me a press release for their new entry level 800 series monoblocks. The specs are pretty impressive, and Boulder manufactures some pretty high-end audio amps, so it's nice to see quality trickle down into the more affordable pieces. The 850s, at $5k a pop (you'll need two for stereo, 5 for a decent surround sound setup), push 200w into 8 ohms, plenty for almost any quality speaker. The 800 line will also include a preamp, with an undetermined price as of right now. Their website makes no mention of the 800 series, but I've been assured a website makeover is in the works.
