Posh Doesn't Want Size Zero Models

Although she wears a size zero herself, Victoria Beckham has come out against using models that are too skinny by refusing to use size zero models for her denim line. Although she notes that many of the models she has known are "just naturally thin girls," Posh doesn't want to send the message that only ultra-thin is beautiful in her promotions. She has hired Brazilian model Daniella Sarahyba to be the face of her brand, who will project a happy, healthy and beautiful image to consumers of any age.

Lindsay Snags Miu Miu Contract

After Lindsay Lohan tried and tried to get herself a modeling contract with a major fashion house earlier this year, starting with Louis Vuitton and then Versace. It didn't quite work out at the time, but Lindsay has finally gotten lucky. She was just signed to be the new face of Miu Miu for their spring 2007 ad campaign. In the past, the fashion house has used Kim Basinger, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Drew Barrymore and Chloë Sevigny, as well as several Chinese actresses and Japanese model Lina Ohta. Whether this will be a one-off for the starlet, or will lead to more contracts, remains to be seen.

Mouawad Heidi Klum Collection

Heidi Klum may have her name on a line of Birkenstocks, but she isn't completely giving up glamour for hippie-chic. She also has a line of fine jewelry with Mouawad, inspired by a clover symbol that she first saw at the Duomo in Milan, which she found to be elegant and timeless - the perfect symbol for a line of jewelry. The Heidi Klum Collection includes earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets that all feature the signature clover pattern and range from simple sterling silver pieces to elaborate white gold and diamond creations. There is a full list of the stores that carry the line on Heidi's website.

Million Crystal Body

It takes one million Swarovski crystals to completely cover the human body - assuming that the body you want to cover is that of a 20-year old model named Chantal. Million Crystal Body is an auction organized by eBay specialist Marion von Kuczkowski in which the million 2-mm crystals covering Chantal are sold for €1 each. As more of Chantal is revealed, her photos will be updated on the website.

Some might call this a global art project and some might call it something else, but it certainly is an interesting idea. The last stones in the auction will not be sold at the fixed €1 price, but will be auctioned via eBay. The proceeds of those final bids will go to an as-yet-unnamed charity. The person who wins the last crystal will have it personally delivered anywhere in the world by Chantal herself.

Private Party at the Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab has been rented out for the next three days, all 18 floors of the sail-shaped, seven star hotel, at a cost of $1.8 million. Supermodel Naomi Campbell is footing the bill, celebrating her 36th birthday party with 72 hours of partying with a star-studded guest list and her millionaire boyfriend Badr Jafar. The hotel was recently upgraded from its status as a six star hotel to become the world's first seven star hotel and one can assume that the high standards of service will be upheld throughout Campbell's party.

Mischa Barton for BeBe

Julia Roberts and Lindsay Lohan may be having some difficulty in getting picked up by designers for fashion campaigns, other actresses aren't facing the same dilema. She will be the face of BeBe in their new ads. Though Barton's image isn't squeky clean from her work on the OC, the ads are still on the edgy side, showing the young actress dominating some rather scantily clad men - while wearing BeBe designs, of course.

India's Eventful Fashion Week

Nothing makes a big, well-publicized event as exciting as a wardrobe malfunction, but I will admit that it is more exciting at a sporting event than a fashion one. With all the costume changes and models running around backstage, trying to fit into samples of various clothing, it isn’t surprising that, from time to time, there will be a malfunction. In India, a recent show seemed plagued with malfunctions and, given the conservative nature of the media and guests in attendance, it created quite a stir.

Personally, I was much more interested in the clothes that were being shown than the media uproar that followed. Indian Fashion Week mega-show featured Indian designers, like Anupama Dayal and Shahzad Kalim and was full of silken, flowing skirts, vibrant colors, corset tops and lots of accessories, including embroidery and lace on the clothing. Dayal’s designs in particular were gorgeous and I have heard that some will be exported to parts of Europe and the US in the coming months. Anyone have any leads on a store, yet?
