Angela Lindvall Sings for Prada's Fall Ad Campaign

Sexy supermodel Angela Lindvall takes on the role of torch singer for Prada's upcoming Fall / Winter 2010 ad campaign. The ads were shot by famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel in a blue-lit nightclub setting and have a Fellini-esque feel. Victoria's Secret stunner Miranda Kerr co-stars along with a sexy supporting cast including Valerija Kelava, Daria Strokous, Sigrid Agren and Kim Dall Armi, Models.com reports. Several new Prada accessories including camouflage pattern handbags are on display. Miuccia Prada's Miu Miu campaign meanwhile shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott features very blonde lookalike models Lindsey Wixson, Siri Tollerod and Ginta Lapina cavorting together. Miu Miu Python Boots

Typically boots are made to keep you warm and protect you from the elements. But as we've been seeing, many boots have transformed into booties with pep toe accents and various cut outs resulting in a resemblance to high heeled sandals rather than boots. We are definitely not complaining and enjoy the many unique roads that fashion seems to take all of us on, but sometimes we come across a piece that makes us stop and wonder what was the inspiration? Take for example these knee high boots by Miu Miu. There is no shortage of details here with an adornment of Swarovski crystals on the heel, cutouts along the entire boot, a cream colored toe with purple & silver accents that make it seem as though a snake is emerging from your toes. And this is all against multicolored python. It is certainly an interesting interpretation on all the trends we have seen in recent years. Whether or not these are wearable is a different issue. These Crystal-Heel Sandals by Miu Miu invoke a sort of old-time "gold and riches" type glam thanks to plenty of glitzy over-sized crystals that look as if they've been pressed onto the shoes' heels while they were covered in molten gold. The sight of these shoes online made me stop instantly to find out what they were and how much they cost. I can only imagine what the effect would be in person, to be walking down the street and see someone tottering toward me in these peep toe platform Miu Miu shoes. Just as there are certain foods of such a piquancy that I can be unsure as to what exactly it is that I'm tasting, these shoes with their kaleidoscope of Perla sequins left me momentarily style blind. Hideous? Fabulous? I'm just not sure. Unforgettable? Certainly. They sell for $950.

If this bag reminds you of a smokey bowling alley and ill-fitting, overused bowling shoes than this won't be your cup o' tea. But personally I like the retro-chic, mod look of Miu Miu's Cutout Bowling Bag. It may be a bit of a literal spin-off of its name but the neutral, simple tones and basic design make it a daily bag for popping around town or heading to a business lunch. It's not quite gold, but it's not quite silver either, so I guess this Pailette Covered Clutch by Miu Miu will coordinate equally well with both. Details include the all-over pailette blending from silver to bronze, a happy pink lining, and a long zip closure along the top ending in a wristlet-style loop handle with a little dangling heart charm. I especially like this clutch it because it looks easy to use during different seasons -- in the spring play up the pink and in the fall accentuate the bronze/gold tones. $420

Depp's Girlfriend Replaces Kirsten Dunst in Miu Miu Ads

Johnny Depp's gorgeous longtime girlfriend, French model/singer/actress Vanessa Paradis, has been chosen to replace Kirsten Dunst as the face of Miuccia Prada's sporty Miu Miu diffusion line. Paradis will appear in the label's futuristic Fall/Winter ads (right) shot by sought-after fashion photog duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot in Los Angeles, Vogue UK reports.

"At once a deconstruction and a pure visual composition, the campaign addresses the exploration of beauty in conjunction with intellect, imagination, and divergence," a Miu Miu rep says. Paradis has previously appeared in several ads for Chanel. She and Depp have been together for 10 years and have two children. Last year my colleague Deirdre Woolard reported that Depp had bought her a vineyard near St. Tropez.
