Another Huge Diamond Found In Lesotho

Another large diamond has been found at the Letseng mine in Lesotho. The stone is 478 carats and is the 20th largest rough diamond ever found. What makes this stone important is that its clarity and structure is such that instead of being cut into many smaller stones like the Lesotho Promise diamond, this new stone could yield a single 150 carat cut stone which would be one of the largest cut stones. The potential rare stone could sell for tens of millions of dollars.

JR Colombian Emeralds

Emeralds are probably the trickiest to buy of the big three colored gemstones (the other two being sapphires and rubies). The emerald is softer and more likely to have internal inclusions that can give the stone a clouded look. But a fine emerald has a bright green vibrancy and light to it that makes the gemstones so prized. At JR Colombian Emeralds they specialize in, of course, Colombian emeralds. They have a business partner in Bogota in the emerald district that allows them a direction connection to the Muzo, Coscuez, LaPita and Chivor mines. Their partner oversees the emerald mining operation located in the Coscuez and Muzo mines and is present at the front lines for some of the best finds. The ring that has me enthralled is this platinum design with a 2.8 carat emerald cut center stone surrounded but 1.10 total carats of diamond baguettes. Such beauty is pricey, this one will run you $26,500 but the store has many other pieces in a variety of price ranges.
