Hublot $3 Million Big Bang Watch

It actually costs only 2 million euros - but that is close enough to 3 Million dollars to call it that right? This year Hublot makes another big bang with this baguette diamond covered 18k white gold Big Bang tourbillon watch. This follows up the Million Dollar Bing Bang from a few years ago that used black diamonds. The $3 Million Big Bang has something like 142 carats of diamonds all over the case, dial, and bracelet. Most of them are large baguette-cut stones and they look marvelous.

The 18k white gold bracelet is stunning with all the diamonds. There is a blinding amount of bling, and that is just what Hublot was going for. The watch speaks as much to other brands as it does consumers about Hublot's market stance. Inside the watch is an in-house made caliber HUB 6003 manually wound tourbillon movement with off-centered time display. Pieces like this are made to order for the right type of people. This isn't the type of watch you can just walk around in. Though at the right social event, the guy wearing the diamond encrusted Hublot that sells for an obscene price might have his taste and sanity questioned, but certainly not his success.

Only 10 Examples of the $2 Million Bertone Mantide will be Built

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Exclusivity has its price. In this case, that price is a jaw-dropping $2 million. That's the tag which Stile Bertone has placed on customer versions of its latest automotive creation, the Mantide. The famed Italian coachbuilder was recently restructured and solicited the talents of one Jason Castriota, formerly of rival design house Pininfarina. As his first project in his new home, Castriota and his crew took the devastatingly fast Corvette ZR1 and gave it a new body, inside and out. The result wowed some and reviled others, but pandering the lowest common denominator is hardly what Bertone was after with this machine: with a few orders already in place, Castriota says the company will build no more than ten examples, effectively ensuring right from the start that the Bertone Mantide will remain a collector's item in perpetuity.

Would You Pay Paris $1 Million to Teach?

Whether she's doing it by accident or it's all part of some carefully calculated master plan I have no idea, but whatever Paris is doing it's working! She really has built herself an empire, and (gasp) now has the opportunity to teach others how she did it. The Learning Annex has reportedly offered Paris $1 million dollars to teach a 1 hour class called "How to Build Your Brand." That much money puts her behind only Donald Trump ($1.5 mil) in the company's history of paid guest teachers.

I guess here is where 'by accident' or 'carefully calculated' really becomes important -- can you tell us how and why you do what you do, Paris? I'll grab my notebook.

The $1.63 Million Diamond and Platinum Handbag

So it's one thing to spend hundreds on a designer handbag that's sure to go out of style in a season or two, but millions? This diamond studded platinum handbag was on display recently in Tokyo by jewelry maker GinzaTanaka, and it looks like something Cinderella could have carried to the ball to coordinate with her beautiful glass slippers. Valued at approximately $1.63 million dollars, it boasts 2,182 diamonds totaling 208 carats and a fairly simple and understated style considering its over-the-top price tag. With this in hand all you need is a diamond tiara and you're ready to party!

$1 Million Grand Enigma Speakers Top the List of Most Expensive

Now we're just getting ridiculous. Joining the "$1 million" club is these Grand Enigma speakers by Karma, and there's apparently only 1 pair in existence in a basement somewhere in Belgium. Seeing as how there's only the one set, it really doesn't matter what the features are (it's not like you could get your own), but I'm still really curious! Just what does a set of speakers have to do to be worth that much? They look huge, but other than that I'm skeptical (I don't see any diamond accents...) and it seems feature specifics are hard to come by.

And be sure to check out the rest of HigherFi.com's list of the world's most expensive speakers, with 2nd place going to Wisdom Audio's Infinite Grande at $600,000.

Million Dollar Coconut Brandy...Any Takers?

Mendis is introducing the world's first ultra-premium coconut brandy, and they're not shy about making a big deal about it. Mendis coconut brandy is an all-natural, clear brandy with delicate tones of coconut, vanilla, and chocolate and a "velvety sweet texture." It's recommended neat or on the rocks, but can also be enjoyed mixed.

The very first bottle of this very first coconut brandy is going up for sale in August for $1 million dollars. So if you're the type to collect "firsts," or really love coconut flavored drinks, or just happened to have an extra million or so burning a hole in your pocket, then you might want to hurry and buy that first fancy bottle as it rolls off the product line (well, I'm sure it doesn't actually roll, do you think?) before somebody else does. Or if you're like me, and even if you had it really wouldn't spend that kinda money on a single bottle of anything, you can enter to win the second bottle for free -- along with a luxury trip to go pick it up and personal security to help you hold on to your pricey little prize.

So how much do you think it would go for on eBay?

Luvaglio's Million Dollar Laptop

Information and details are sketchy, but Luvaglio is apparently planning to unveil its latest luxury gadget -- a $1 million dollar laptop -- sometime in the near future. So what does that much money get you in the world of portable computers? There seems to be an intentional feeling of mystery surrounding the whole thing, with limited pictures released and an invitation only website. But rumor has it there's a glossy black piano finish on the outside, a self-cleaning screen, a Blu-ray drive, and a diamond-encrusted (of course) power button.

For a million dollars I hope the rumor-mill missed some major features, or else that better be one big power button.

Million Dollar Jewelry PC

We love Engadget's coverage of CES just as much as we love seeing some of the hot new gadgets to come out of it. Our feeling for the Jewelry PC are not quite that strong, despite the fact that it is, according to the makers at Moneual labs, the "world's first million dollar personal computer." It doesn't look that impressive even though it includes real diamonds and other jewels, but it runs "a Core 2 Duo or Athlon 64 FX, Windows Vista Ultimate, 8GB of DRAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX 768MB of RAM, 2TB of 7,200 SATA storage, Blu-ray or HD DVD drive and ... [has] a 7-inch built-in screen, TV tuner and 7.1-channel sound." Unless you like the really traditional (bordering on old-fashioned) look of the computer, you might simply be better off going for a flashier, more modern computer and buying your diamonds separately.

Million Crystal Body

It takes one million Swarovski crystals to completely cover the human body - assuming that the body you want to cover is that of a 20-year old model named Chantal. Million Crystal Body is an auction organized by eBay specialist Marion von Kuczkowski in which the million 2-mm crystals covering Chantal are sold for €1 each. As more of Chantal is revealed, her photos will be updated on the website.

Some might call this a global art project and some might call it something else, but it certainly is an interesting idea. The last stones in the auction will not be sold at the fixed €1 price, but will be auctioned via eBay. The proceeds of those final bids will go to an as-yet-unnamed charity. The person who wins the last crystal will have it personally delivered anywhere in the world by Chantal herself.

$2M Chinese Vase

A 20-inch high blue and white Yuan Dynasty vase fetched over $2 million at a Christie's auction during New York's Asian art week. The 14th-century vase attracted the attention of numerous bidders who drove the final price tag up to double its original estimate of $1 million.  The striking vase was in pristine condition and is thought to have been a commission for a person of great importance. It was sold to a private buyer.
