Interesting idea, and it is a classic and simple design (although I'm not crazy about metallics), but I can't help but think that for something so simple as tissues it might be more stylish not to have a special case? Seems a little like overkill. But to each their own! Having one would definitely feel like luxury, if not look it. From the description: "May all your tears be tears of joy." $45

Periodic Table

This Periodic Table is almost as simple as things can get, really. It's just four pieces of wood stuck together and painted, but somehow it works. Designed by One & Co., this piece was part of the launch of the new San Francisco-based furniture company called 'Council' last month. The metal coated wood block coffee table is made by coating a 48" x 48" x 13" block of wood with your choice of silver (natural, black, or pink). The resulting appearance is modern and bold, while keeping an organic feel with the natural wood-grain staying easily visible.

I love the design, but hate the colors.

Valentino Kid Laminato Handbag, Handbag of the Day

Yet another metallic bag for spring! This time, we're looking at Valentino's Kid Laminato Handbag, which is made of supple leather that has been finished with a nickel-tone metallic sheen, which has a warm, almost pinkish, cast to it, setting it apart from some of the more harshly metallic bags out there. The hardware is gold, including the signature V adorning the tab closure running over the bag's top zipper and underneath the rolled leather top handles. Inside, the lining is canvas and has one zippered pocket to keep your small items secure inside the large purse. It measures 11"H x 17"W x 6"D. Price: $1,695.

Metallics are in for the spring, but an all-metallic bag is more than a little over-the-top for the average person. The Gucci Indy Large Top Handle Bag has metallic accents that are flashy, but not blinding. The silver splashes come in the form of small metal plates at the bottom corners of the bag and rounded metal top handle. The body of the large bag is made of black suede, and is further accented with bright purple piping on the bottom and along the top zip closure, as well as with neon pink on the silver handle. Metallic Space Curtain

The "space" in the name of the Metallic Space Curtain is likely to refer to the fact that the unusual curtain can be used to divide a space into two separate areas, rather than resemble something that is from outer space, although the glimmering piece could very well have been inspired by the night sky. The curtain is composed of over 2,000 individual squares of thin, platinum-colored metal. It measures 99"x99" and can be used either as a divider or as a wall covering. The piece was designed by Paco Rabanne Sofwear around 1970 for Baumann AG, Switzerland. Price: $14,000.

The last Kate Spade bag we saw featured here was the wicker Margherita Box Basket, and the designer has more wicker options for us this summer. The Havana Wicker Clutch combines the inescapably summery look of wicker with the summer's hottest trend of bags with a metallic sheen. Gold plastic, made to look like wicker, is woven between white pieces, resulting in a bag that is glamorous enough for evening use and with an appealing sunkissed look that would not be out of place on the boardwalk. I've been seeing metallic bags popping up on the arms of all the celebrity fashionistas lately. While a large metallic silver bag makes a rather strange statement on a hot summer day, the bags themselves are quite appealing. Marc Jacobs Quilted Metallic Bowler is a striking example of a silvery bag. The mid-sized bowler (12.5" x 9 x 5 ) is made of quilted goatskin leather with shimmering gold hardware, including a trompe l'oeil push-lock accent, that adds a bit of flash to an already glamorous bag. A zip-top closure reveals a fabric-lined interior with a zip pocket, making storage simple, and protective metal feet have been added to the bottom of the bag to prevent scuffs. Price: $975.

This bag is from the same spring line that produced the Mattie Wedge Sandal and I just can't get enough of that adorable appliqued bee! He is again featured on this beautiful Coach tote. The SoHo Optic Applique Lunch Tote has a metallic, summery sheen to its white, logo-print fabric and the leather trim is lightweight, so it won't weight the bag down as you are out in the heat.
