Filed under: Luxury Travel & Hotels, Luxury Cars & Autos, Events, Charity

Not to be left out by other department stores, Saks Fifth Avenue has their own version of over-the-top holiday gifts but a portion of the price of each of their gifts are donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The most coveted is the chance to own the first-ever SLR Mercedes-Benz Roadster Convertible. As part of the package you will fly to Monaco for the 2008 Formula One race and take private lessons from the pros at the Circuit Paul Richard Racetrack in Provence, France. The package costs $520,000, $10,000 of which will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The rest of the five gifts are a concert experience with Matchbox Twenty ($25,000, $5,000 of which will go to St. Jude's); a vacation experience in Bora Bora with chef Jean Georges Vongerichten which costs $115,000 ($5,000 of which goes to St. Jude's); a weekend in New York City which includes the chance to create a customized ring with jewelry designer Temple St. Clair and formulate your very own fragrances with Bond No. 9 founder Laurice Rahme, dine at Gramercy Tavern and go on a private shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue before the store opens which sells for $60,000 ($5,000 of which $5,000 will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) and lastly five customized snowglobes to share with family and friends for $3,000 ($1,000 will be donated to St. Jude's).

Stefan Eriksson Loses Another Car

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The story of the epic Enzo crash on Pacific Coast Highway just gets more and more interesting. The latest episode involves the wife of Stefan Eriksson, the former Gizmondo boss who took the Ferrari for its ill-fated spin. The LA Times says that Nicole Persson was stopped by Beverly Hills police along Wilshire Blvd. driving Eriksson's Mercedes SLR McLaren. The car had British plates but no tags and Persson did not have a valid driver's license. The car was impounded. As we mentioned earlier, it seems that both the Ferrari and the McLaren may belong to a bank in Scotland and Eriksson shipped the cars to the U.S. to avoid surrendering them. The picture here was taken by 13-year-old Spyder Dobrofsky who was on the scene at the time of the traffic stop.
