Mariah Carey Buys $7 Million Mansion

It looks like Mariah Carey was only dreaming when she reportedly made an offer on Fleur de Lys, the $125 million Beverly Hills mansion once ranked as the world's most expensive estate (that title is now held by the $150 million Spelling mansion). According to the Real Estalker, the pop star just purchased this somewhat more modest mansion in Bel Air (above) that once belonged to Farrah Fawcett for about $7 million. The private gated estate on 3 acres designed in the Hamptons style and originally built in 1950 is about 10,000-sq.-ft. with 6 bedrooms and 7 baths.

The property features incredible 360-degree views and the renovated house has an "Aspen-style" great room, seven fireplaces, formal living and dining rooms, a library, media room, office, an eat in gourmet kitchen. The grounds boast three gated entrances, two motor courts, a huge rectangular swimming pool with a poolside pavilion, a large brick terrace, several lush lawns areas, a gazebo, and an Indoor racquetball court. The closing price is about $2.5 million less than the sellers were originally asking.

Mariah Carey Makes an Offer on World's Most Expensive Mansion

Pop diva Mariah Carey has reportedly made an offer on Fleur de Lys, the world's most expensive estate, which is listed at $125 million. The the palatial 15-bedroom mansion in Beverly Hills (above) was built by Texan billionaire David Saperstein. The five-acre estate is home to a 41,000-square foot French limestone mansion inspired by France's magnificent Vaux le Vicomte palace outside Paris. It features Italian marble walls, French limestone floors, gold-embossed leather wall coverings, gold-leaf crown moldings, a ballroom with ceiling frescoes, a library complete with rare books, two kitchens and a screening room with seating for 50.

Surrounding the mansion are rolling lawns, ornamental gardens and mature trees, a 3,000-square-foot manager's house, staff quarters for 10 people, a spa and pool with a pavilion, a championship tennis court, and a lavish garden folly. Contactmusic reports that after three months of house hunting Carey and her rapper / actor husband Nick Cannon have made an offer on the estate, for an undisclosed amount. "They like the home because there's so little that needs doing to it," a source close to the couple allegedly remarked. The house is currently owned by Saperstein's ex-wife Suzanne, whom he ditched for the childrens' hot Swedish nanny.

Mariah Carey's Summer Vacation Rental, Stone Meadow Farm, Estate of the Day

Stone Meadow Farm is on eight acres and has a 18,000 square foot house with 10 bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms done up in white and dark brown with white walls and furnishings and dark wood floors and wood tables. The shingled expanse includes a 3500 sq ft finished lower level with a spa and media room.

Kate Moss Loves The Night

Kate Moss may be losing her modeling contracts but she is still powerful as a brand name. She has announced her second fragrance, Velvet Hour which is being done for Coty. The fragrance celebrates dusk, and Kate's love of the nightlife, with scents like patchouli, sandalwood, amber, nutmeg and freesia. Sounds very bohemian. The fragrance is set to launch in the fall with a magazine ad campaign shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and and TV ads directed by John Mathieson.

Moss isn't the only one with a new second scent. Mariah Carey is readying her second fragrance, Luscious Pink, for Elizabeth Arden. Carey's scent is described as a "sparkling floral" with notes of Sicilian bergamot, Tahitian Tiare petals, lily of the valley and pink peony, sandalwood and white musk.

$24K Gold Tan Line from Mariah

You know you're serious about tanning when you hire a personal tanning assistant, and anyone who has seen Mariah Carey's dark tan over the past few years can easily tell that she loves to do it. This has led to more than a few instances of bright orange skin in the past, but Mariah has decided that gold is more her color now. She is working with her tanning assistant, who is from the Portofino Sun Center and Spa in Beverly Hills, developing a new fake tan line that is made with 24-karat gold dust. It sounds like it might be a little over-the-top for anyone who isn't spending a lot of time on stage, but it will probably be a hit with those who really like to look bronzed. Or gilded.

Mariah Carey has recently been chosen as the spokeswoman for Gillette's newest campaign, Legs of a Goddess. She isn't the first celebrity to insure a body part, but she is setting a new high standard with the amount of the policy. Other celebs who are putting a price on their legs include Heidi Klum ($1.2 million right leg, $1 million left), Betty Grable ($1 million), Jamie Lee Curtis ($1 million) and Fred Astaire ($75,000).

If the Millionaire sunglasses are any indication, this new line will definitely not be understated.

Mariah Carey To Launch Fragrance Line

Filed under: Celebrity Shopping, Cosmetics and Fragrance

It seems hard to believe but Mariah Carey has never launched her own fragrance. That is all about to change, the golden-throated diva is partnering with  Elizabeth Arden (the same company that sells the Britney Spears perfumes) to create Mariah Carey's first fragrance. The first scent will hit stores in 2007. The name of the fragrance hasn't been released yet but if Britney has Curious and Fantasy and Jennifer Lopez has the Glow fragrances any guesses on the name Mariah will pin on her perfume?
