Celestina Mango Box Clutch, Handbag of the Day

You gotta love a handbag that's named after a fruit, but the Celestina Mango Box Clutch is lovable for more reasons than just that one. It's not only a beautiful shade of candy pink shagreen but its stingray box clutch design has natural daniela wood trim for something a little different than the norm of gold or silver metal hardware. It's lined in a shade of soft ivory and features a hidden magnetic closure, plus (in another detour from the usual) it comes with a small mirror included. $1365

Mango Wood Turned Stool

The Mango Wood Turned Stool can serve many purposes, working equally well as a table, stool, or simply as an artistic element. Hand-turned on a lathe by artisans in Thailand, the unique beauty and character of the mango wood is left to show naturally by leaving the wood untreated, which means no two pieces are alike. I love it and think it's beautiful, although due its mix of natural energy and modern appeal working it into a room's decor would take a skilled vision I think. Its hand-crafted nature means measurements may vary slightly, but are generally 13"W x 18"H and it weighs about 25lbs. $368 from Gaiam.

Iittala Mango Flatware

Who would have thought that flatware could be sexy? The Iittala Mango Flatware was originally designed by Nancy Still back in 1971, but as all trends eventually come around again, it isn't surprising to see it popping up again now. Made of matte brushed 18/10 stainless steel, each piece has a sinuous elegance to it and would word well at both formal and casual dinners. The set is made in Finland. Price: $70 per 5-piece set.

Lamarthe New York Double Sack, Handbag of the Day

I don't think that I can pass up a bag that comes in the color "mango," especially if the rich, supple leather of the bag is as delicious a color as Lamarthe's New York Double Sack. The warm hue of the bag will add a ton of flavor to basic trousers or jeans and give a great summer tone to an outfit. The bag is cut in a boxy, retro style, with a zip top and buckled pockets at either end, as well as a size zip pocket and multiple inner pockets. Too many pockets? No such thing. This is one of the things that makes it a fantastic day-use bag. Price: $500.

Mango Opens First US Store

Mango just opened its first store (MNG by Mango) in the US in California, with eight more stores on the way. They have also just launched a website to sell their products in the US. Mango is a popular Spanish clothing chain that markets fashionable clothes to women at surprisingly reasonable prices. The stores are great places for fashionistas on a budget to get fantastic, seasonal pieces. Up until this point, Americans have been known to go crazy in the European stores, stocking up on goods that were unavailable here. They offer casual, evening, business and "sport" looks in their collections, all of which will be available online as well as in-store.
