Armin Strom Skeleton Square Man Watch

Armin Strom will present this Skeleton Square Man watch in addition to the Elements watch line at Basel later this month. Skeletonization has certainly been on the radar of many this season, and the trend continues to evolve. This watch is pleasant looking take on open faces and skeletonization. The Skeleton Square takes a fashionably designed 18k white gold rectangular case with engraved sides, and very unique proportions as a frame for the decorated movement.

Inside is a hand-wound Armin Strom ASM09 calibre that is lovingly decorated in a very traditional manner. As there is so much detail to appreciate on the watch face, Armin Strom chose to add an AR coating to the sapphire crystal, making it easier to view. The point of this watch is to combine a modern looking architecturally-themed case with a classically decorated movement - it makes its point well. You do get the impression that a watch like this is made for an appreciative audience, rather than for just any watch lover though. This is ok, because taking the time to study the finer points of this watch allows you to respect the various talents used to create it. Insofar that the Skeleton Square Man watch is a showpiece of fine watch making, I respect its placement in the horological community. The watch is attached to a black alligator strap with a matching white gold buckle. Look for it soon.

The Perfect Luxury Bathroom for Men?

Porsche designed what they called the perfect man's kitchen, and now Hoesch has done what just might be the same thing but in the bathroom. Start with clean lines and the simplest of color schemes and combine it with cutting edge technology and you've pretty much made any guy (and many women for that matter) happy. It has a Mirror TV Cabinet, a Duo bathtub roomy enough for two, a walk-in shower with a drying area and special grid floor that eliminates puddles, and both a shallow and a deep sink. All displayed and surrounded by classic white porcelain and your choice of walnut or macassar. What do you think guys, yay or nay?

Pav Diamond Dog Tag

Sometimes guys want a little bling too, you know? But it's hard to find that right balance of flash and masculinity, and although I'm not claiming this Pavé Diamond Dog Tag by David Yurman does the trick (it's all about personal preference and I'm not even a guy) the mix of pave diamonds and dog tag style seems to at least be in the right ballpark. It has a total of 1.15 carats total with a sterling silver logo, cable trim, "925" inlay, and a sterling silver chain pulling the whole thing together. Available at Neiman Marcus for $1,950.

The Man's Kitchen

Manly men who love to cook: here comes the kitchen of your dreams. That's the idea anyway behind Porsche Design Group and Poggenpohl's new "man's kitchen" (there's no official name yet). It's been created and crafted with the male cook in mind, which apparently means modern and sleek monochromatic stying complete with details like no-handle cabinets, high-tech audiovisual system and aluminum-finished everything. It will be available starting sometime next year.

I think it looks sleek and manly, but what do I know? Guys: did they get it right?

Louis Vuitton Tamyr, Handbag of the Day

The Louis Vuitton Taïmyr is a bag that is designed with the young, modern business man in mind. It is very lightweight and large enough (14.2" L x 11.1" H x 6.3" W) to be practical for traveling without being a pain to carry around. It is made of textured leather and canvas with a smooth leather trim. The top pocket has an unusual, slightly forward-facing zipper, which provides easy access to the main compartment and the contents of the bag, though there are several exterior pockets that are perfect for items that require easy access. The LV logo appears subtly on the front flap and on the adjustable shoulder strap. Price: $1,210.

Cole Haan Suede Baseball Jacket

Need a casual jacket for fall? Cole Haan's Suede Baseball Jacket seems perfect for keeping the chill off and looking sharp in general. The jacket is lightweight and made of soft, supple suede with an acrylic/cotton knit lining. It has a form-fitting, elegant cut that makes it suitable for general wear, as well as for wearing out to an informal dinner or to late night party, but it is kept from looking too dressy by the raw edges. The jacket zips up the front and has a barely-there collar. Honestly, it looks best when it is left open, but this is the kind of jacket that will be flattering to almost anyone. Price: $495.

Bill Amberg Haircalf Holdall, Handbag of the Day

I like the idea that this men's bag, the Haircalf Holdall by Bill Amberg, is designed for travel because it assigns an immediate use for the bag. There is no need to cast about for situations in which such an accessory might be appropriate.

A striking piece of craftsmanship, an adaptation of a 1930s style bag, it is made out of brown and ivory haircalf with a smooth, soft leather trim. It can hold just about everything you might want to access during a flight and will take up minimal room on the plane. The front pocket will fit a ticket or passport perfectly, and it's always helpful to keep track of those two items in particular when traveling. Price: $1,100.
