The Catherine Malandrino Fall/Winter 2011 presentation was focused on the romanticism of a chilly, stylish Paris with the gritty edge of NYC.

The result? Stunning silhouettes in laser cut black leather, scarlets, purples and emeralds, lots and lots of black, luscious furs, and accessories that already have us thinking of ways to spot fakes. Each piece was tailored to perfection, and while the models were on the skinny side, even for for models, you can see in the lines that these clothes would work on real people, too.

Taffeta Leaf Bag

If you like texture this is your bag. The Taffeta Leaf bag by Malandrino has a very tactile fat braided shoulder strap and a taffeta frame with leather-leaf detailing. It doesn't look like it holds a lot but it is a bag which could serve as either a day or evening bag paired with with jeans or with a sleek black dress. It measures 13 1/2" x 5 1/2" with a 9" handle drop and sells for $1,250.
