Infiniti and Louis Vuitton Pull the Veil off the Essence Concept in Geneva

After twenty years in the North American market, Infiniti has become a mainstay of the luxury segment on this side of the Atlantic. But in Europe - home to some of the most established premium automakers in the world - Nissan's luxury division is just making its debut. The corporate strategists knew they'd have to make a big splash to make any sort of impact on the European market, so they teamed up with luxury label Louis Vuitton to create the stunning Essence concept.

Collaborations between automakers and fashion labels are nothing new - think Audi and Prada or Lamborghini and Versace - and we brought you news of this partnership before the show even opened. But we had no idea what a stunning show car it would yield. Easily among the most beautiful of the show-stoppers this year in Geneva, the Infiniti Essence features hybrid propulsion that yields nearly 600 horsepower, in a muscular yet elegant and futuristic shape that couldn't be missed. LV was brought in to craft a special set of fitted luggage for the concept, rekindling a century-old business for the French luxury label which we hope Infiniti will offer on its existing vehicles already in showrooms. Louis Vuitton's Seasonal Gift Collection 2008 Previewed

Last weekend in Dubai, Louis Vuitton showcased their Seasonal Gift Collection for 2008 including handbags, wallets, jewelry and accessories amidst a snowy backdrop and Parisian winter scenes. Guests were invited to see, touch and admire the collection shown on October 13th at the Emirates Tower Hotel. Typically I start to gear up for the holiday season around mid-October which seems to be the mindset of many consumers -- at least those that I know. I'm sure the LV Marketing VP's are well aware of the trend...already making us drool over the merchandise two months in advance. Louis Vuitton Cellphone Accessory

Recently, Rigel mentioned Bulgari's phone accessories, today check out the latest phone add-on from Louis Vuitton. The Monogram Inclusion phone accessory features two dangling resin cubes with Swarovski crystals and brass LV and monogram logos floating in the clear resin finish. The overall effect is a bit like having fuzzy dice hanging from the rearview mirror on your car. It sells for $240.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Groom Compact Wallet

Inspired by one of their ads from the 1920s, Louis Vuitton has decided to feature this young "groom" on several of their newest pieces, including this Monogram Groom Compact Wallet. The porter is set on a vibrant stripe of white and blue, and the color is carried to the interior of the wallet, giving it a vibrant a youthful feel, especially when compared to some of the more sedate looks associated with the use of their classic monogram pattern. The wallet has a zip change purse, three credit card slots, two larger slot pockets for business cards or photos and a bill pocket. It snaps securely shut with a golden snap. Price: $540.

Men's Speeding Monogram Canvas Sneakers

Louis Vuitton has just put out their new fall shoes and these Speeding Monogram Canvas Sneakers are a great piece from the men's collection. In fact, they are the first line of shoes that feature the signature LV monogram canvas. There is leather piping and suede trim outlining the canvas, and the insole is anatomic, adding extra support and comfort to the molded rubber sole of the shoe. For convenience and adding a level of sleekness, the shoes have Velcro closures instead of laces. Wear them jogging, to the gym or use them to dress up a pair of fitted jeans. Price: $455.

Louis Vuitton Purple Pouchette, Handbag of the Day

Working with designer Marc Jacobs, the classic Louis Vuitton Pouchette style bag has gotten a bit of a makeover for the summer. The bag is made of silk, printed with a charm bracelet pattern that has the LV logo and other iconic brand shapes. It is coated in vinyl to protect the silk scarf and make it more durable. The leather strap is removable and the bag has a zipper closure. The bag is accessorized with - what else - a small padlock. It does come in brown and white, as well as in fuchsia, for the more conservative dresser, but you may as well have a little fun with a summer bag! Price: $640.

Louis Vuitton Epi Alma, Handbag of the Day

I was unimpressed by the look of the Louis Vuitton Epi Alma handbag based on the pictures I had seen of it, most of which seemed to be of poor quality. After seeing the photo posted by Megs at Purse Blog, I had a change of heart. The bag is beautiful, made of a textured Epi leather in a striking blue color (also in black and blue/silver), and has the Vuitton logo in one corner. The trim is smooth leather, as are the rolled handles, and gives the bag an elegant, polished look. The bag is lined in alcantara and has a zipper closure, which can be secured with a small, included padlock if you're traveling with it or want to compare it to the padlock on your friend's Paddington. Price: $990.

Loius Vuitton Speedy 30

The Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 is the sort of bag that begs to be taken along on a jet-setting summer holiday. The roomy bag is just the right size to hold a change of clothes and a bathing suit for an overnight trip. In an update of the more stately Speedy 25 bag, designer Marc Jacobs has given the purse vivid pink and orange microfiber lining that can be seen through perforations on its exterior front and side pockets. The monogrammed canvas is trimmed in kidskin leather with comfortable, rolled leather handles. Price $1,200.
