Lanvin Love Canvas Pochette, Handbag of the Day

I love this Love Canvas Pochette bag by Lanvin, it's so cheerful and light-hearted and brings up all the happy feelings of bonding with your best girlfriends. It's a simple little rectangular bag of cotton canvas, with a whimsical print and large magenta grosgrain ribbon detail off one side. It also has a bit of red satin trim and a bright fuschia satin lining -- what a combination of colors! A basic zip top closure and a single internal pocket round out the basics, and of course the ribbon is the only available handle. $280

Eat, Pray, Love Tour in Bali

Filed under: Luxury Travel & Hotels

Elizabeth Gilbert wrote a memoir in 2006 titled Eat, Pray Love: One Woman's Search for Everything across Italy, India and Indonesia which became a national bestseller. The book takes the reader along the author's personal quest for equilibrium after a messy divorce and other life snafus. Really it focuses on one woman's question "What am I doing with my life?" Her journey's final stop is in Bali where she starts to find her center and balance. Her search is partially about finding love with an appropriate man but really more significantly learning how to know, love and appreciate herself.

Soon to be a major motion picture staring Julia Roberts the story so captivated readers that it was one of only two books to be on the New York Times Paperback Bestseller list every week of 2008. For those of you who made New Year's resolutions to really examine their life Spirit Quest Tours has organized an amazing spiritual journey to Bali based on the book. The trip will take place in May 2010 and can accommodate thirty-five travelers departing from either New York or Los Angeles. It is a good compromise for those who are not writers and can't leave their desk jobs for a year to travel the world and find themselves.

While the tour has been inspired by the book there are some key differences. First, the tour organizers don't guarantee that you will find love on the vacation and they do not make you stay in little cottages. They do promise that all participants will be pleased to stay in four star accommodations, eco-friendly and with spas, rather than the little cottages enjoyed by the author. The tour does include a visit with Ketut Liyer, an authentic Balinese shaman, who advised Elizabeth Gilbert during her four month stay in Bali. Guests will also have the opportunity to visit local temples, time for yoga and meditation, shopping for items made by local artisans and traditional Balinese dance ceremonies including the Kecak dance. Will the trip change your life? Who knows, but it does sound like a nice vacation and that seems to be something that is on the top of many to do lists!

Wine And Love Are A Perfect Match

I started thinking about wine couples after meeting Suzanne Phifer-Pavitt of Phifer Pavitt Wine. So many boutique wineries have two loves at their root: love of good wine and the love of the couple or family that makes the wine. The story of Suzanne Phifer-Pavitt and her husband, Shane Pavitt is the classic successful city couple moves to the countryside fable. The pair now live in the Napa Valley with their children. They created Date Night Cabernet Sauvignon because they were inspired by their own date nights spent with a bottle of wine dreaming of the future. Suzanne calls Shane her "forever Valentine" and he says that "Every love story is a unique journey of chance and destiny. Date Night is a fond memory of your perpetual journey." Their 2005 Date Night Cabernet Sauvignon sells for $75.

Hand Painted Valentine Cards by Sarabella

Valentine's Day is almost here and it's time to start thinking about the finishing touch on the gift for your sweetheart: the card. If you haven't already picked one out and are reluctant to go buy one "off the rack" at your local mall, consider one of these pretty art cards from Katie's Paperie. Created by artist Natalie Sarabella, the card above is hand painted and has Swarovski crystal accents to complement the classic music and hearts design, and the simple phrase "You make my heart sing" on the inside. A card that's also a unique, beautiful little piece of art. $75

Giant Diamond Gets A Name

How's this for a love gift? The 101.27-carat diamond which sold for $6.21 million to a private buyer at the Christie's Hong Kong jewelry auction last May has a new name. The stone's new owner has dubbed it "The Shizuka Diamond" as a gift for his wife of 16 years. The Shizuka diamond is the largest colorless diamond ever sold at auction in Asia. The shield-shaped F-color stone was cut from a 460-carat piece of rough and has 92 facets.

Frederique Constant Love Heart Beat Watch For Valentine's Day

It is now February, with Valentine's Day approaching post haste. If you are a man like me, you are trying to think of the easiest way to 'deal' with the annual obligation. If you are a woman, you might conversely be eagerly awaiting this year's bounty. Therefore, from now until Valentine's Day you'll be seeing items here that satisfy both of these positions.

Here is the Love Heart Beat watch by Swiss maker Frederique Constant. The Heart Beat collection is a mechanical watch line known for its open view to the watch's escapement, complete with perlage decoration. In this watch the FC 310 calibre movement window is contained within the "O" of "Love." While it might be hard to tell, the dial has guilloche engraving with heart shapes to amplify the theme. The bezel of the steel or rose gold plated case has 64 diamonds set for a dashing look, while diamonds further make up several of the hour markers on the face. A satin strap completes a nice, and surprisingly affordable watch perfect for Valentine's Day, or other heartfelt occasions.

Ariel Adams publishes the watch review site aBlogtoRead.com.

Would You Pay £1,000 For A Bottle of Water?

Bottled water sales have slowed their rapid growth rate recently but believe it or not, even in this economy there were six brave (or perhaps foolish) souls willing to flout logic and spend £1,000 for a bottle of the Swarovski-crystal covered limited edition Love H20 bottles at Selfridges. Each bottle is bedecked with more than 6,500 Swarovski crystals and takes over a week to create. The company gets the water from Wenlock Spring Water in Shropshire. The six bottles have already been reserved and will be delivered after Christmas. In the meantime, the bottles are being used as display items in each of the six Selfridges stores across the UK. There is also a Love Limited Edition vodka which at least allows you to dull the pain of the knowledge that you spent so much on a sparkly bottle.

Montblanc's Love Letter Ink 2008

A holiday like Valentine's Day is all in the details, and in today's world of emails, text messages, and computerized everything what better detail than to write your sweetheart a love note by hand in beautiful rose colored and rose scented ink. Love Letter Ink 2008 by Montblanc is available either by the bottle or in cartridges, and although it's not clear how strong the rose scent is or how long it lingers (this reviewer says it's fairly short-lived) how great it would be for a long-distance lover to open a perfumed V-Day card along with a delivery of blooms (not to mention it would be so pleasant to write the note as well!).
