Two and a half Catalina? That's the property website name for the home being put up for sale by Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller. The pair, who recently added twins to their family, have listed their 1927 Mediterranean in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. The LA Times Hot Property column broke the news that the home is listed for $3.697 million and reports that the Sheens spent the past year restoring the gated villa but are now looking for a home with a bit more room.

This classic Southern California Spanish-style home has four bedrooms in 4,179 square feet. White walls contrast against dark wood floors and a wood-beamed ceiling. The remodeled kitchen features a steel stove, green cabinets and a patio-like stone floor. Some of the decorating elements are a bit busy. A bathroom appears to have a leather-coated wall. The palatial glass cabinet of a shower in the master bedroom has a tile design that while striking, does not exactly inspire relaxation. The master bedroom does have a great private balcony area that is partially covered so you have your choice of sun or shade. The property includes a fountain in the tiled front courtyard and in the back there is a pool with a stone waterfall. This home is listed at $3.697 million. Property Shark's records show that Mueller picked up the home (through an LLC) for $2.575 million in late 2007.

One of Frank Lloyd Wright's most ambitious homes, the 1924 Ennis House in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles has been put up for sale. The home on a hilltop has a striking composition of patterned and smooth concrete blocks that give it the apeparance of an ancient temple. The private foundation that has been restoring the home has put it up for sale for $15 million. The LA Times reports that Eric Lloyd Wright, the architect's grandson and a member of the nonprofit Ennis House Foundation's board,has said that the board decided that private ownership would be the best way to save the house. The house was donated to a nonprofit trust in 1980 and the foundation began its restoration in 2005. The home had sustained damage both from rain and the 1994 Northridge earthquake.

You may have seen this one in the movies including "House on Haunted Hill," "Grand Canyon" and "Blade Runner." The home is not exactly in move in condition. The LA Times article states that the new owner is also facing a projected repair bill of $5 million to $7 million. But whoever does take on the project will be getting an incredible one-of-kind home that is a California State Landmark.

The main house includes a billiards room with a bar and open fireplace, an incredible elevated dining room with a massive fireplace and a living room with art glass windows. The listing says that the glass-tile mosaic fireplace in the living room is one of only three ever created and the last remaining intact example in any Wright residence. The home is on around a half an acre and includes a pool which is set against a long loggia that connects the public areas with the private rooms include the master bedroom, a guest room and an upper terrace.

In addition to the repair costs, the new owner will also have to agree to a conservation easement, to be held by the Los Angeles Conservancy to allow at least some public access to the house but that's the price of living in such a historic home.

The home is the largest of Wright's four textile-block homes. Another, the Millard House in Pasadena, is listed at $7.733 million an was previously our estate of the day.

Gorgeous actress Natalie Portman just overpaid for a California-Medieval mini-manor (above) in L.A.'s Los Feliz. The Star Wars stunner paid $3.25 million, or $51,000 above the asking price, for the 4,866-sq.-ft., four-bed, two-bath house built in the 1930s, which was formerly owned by Dermot Mulroney and Catherine Keener, the Real Estalker reports. A brick courtyard at the front of the walled and gated property leads to the entrance of the rough-hewn stone and wood residence. The key feature is a baronial wood-paneled living room with a cathedral ceiling and large fireplace. A wide brick terrace on the garden side overlooks an inground pool, and there are two guesthouses on the property.

It's a bit eclectic and not really an estate but I just love the livability of today's home which was written up in the LA Times Hot Property section. Owned by Doug "SA" Martinez of the band 311 this home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz was built in 1927. The Spanish Colonial home is full of archways and stucco and original wood details. The four-bedroom home has two tiled balconies, one that is off of the master suite. No decorator here, this home is a riot of different colors and styles, a comfortable hodge-podge of unmatched furniture, colorful art and books everywhere stuffed into armoire-like cases. The kitchen is the only room that looks bland. The brilliant blue-tiled bathroom is a bit much but I love it for its vibrancy. The outdoor space is nice too with a saltwater pool and a custom Tennessee oak-covered patio with views of the Griffith Observatory. It is listed at $2.195 million.
