Lodger Footwear has a Shoe for Every Month

Happening on some establishment in Cincinnati or Miami that calls itself a "shoppe" or a "centre" usually rings the bell on our cynic's scale. Yet there are reasons that 'ye olde worlde' nostalgia remains, and England's Lodger Footwear is another of them. Handmade shoes fashioned probably in much the same way King James had his done... minus the CAD projections and 3-D laser scanner... results in a pair of shoes that – once your feet get used to them – will be hard to beat or outlast.

A newer twist to the old shoe game, though, is Lodger's Shoe of the Month. April's design is the Russell Rolled Top Oxford. Built on a classic English last and decked out in, ahem, burnished military green with a gently spreading top line, it's a taste of what's to come from Lodger's fall and winter collection. You can get them as long as the month lasts if you're so interested, but come May there'll be another one it'll be gone.

But wait, fine shoe lovers, there's more: every pair of Lodger shoes comes with custom made shoe trees designed on the original last, a 100% bamboo shoe bag for each shoe with luggage tags on each, and a storage box with a photo "for easy organization and identification of your shoe collection."
