Wet Lamp
While it is beautiful, the Wet Lamp makes me nervous. Designed by Scott Franklin, the lamp is a completely safe, low-energy system that can be enjoyed safely in the home. It is an exposed light bulb that floats in a glass bubble full of water. When a thin silver rod is slid into the water through an opening in the ball, the light turns on and, it grows brighter the deeper the rod is inserted. The lamp comes in both clear and frosted finishes, with the clear revealing the inner workings clearly. Available sizes range from 4"x4" to 6"x8.5" and the prices start at $199 and vary by size.
