12 New Year's Eve Party Dresses

The Holiday Season is in full swing. Christmas is quickly approaching and before you know it, New Year's Eve will make its arrival. And you know what that means? The search begins, if it hasn't already, for the perfect dress to attend the world's ultimate party.

So what makes for the perfect dress? First off is comfort. If you don't feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing, don't wear it. Even the most expensive dress by the best designer will not work if you don't feel comfortable. Second, forget the trends and wear a dress that works for your body. Find a complementing silhouette, color and length.

To help your quest for the right dress, we've searched and found a collection of some breathtaking and seductive dresses. We start with a gorgeous strapless party dress from Tracy Reese. The Curving Cloudcover Dress ($398) is made with various pieces of delicate chiffon that are layered together against a form fitting a-line silhouette. A dark color combination of black and grey with hints of sequins makes for a versatile dress that would complement all skin tones. Reese's elegant and ethereal dress is fashionable enough to be worn with minimal jewelry and sexy high-heeled patent leather pumps for a knock-out outfit.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit: the Most Luxurious Jeep Yet

Used to be if you were looking for a luxury SUV, your choices were limited largely to the Range Rover and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both have plenty of competition these days, but the latter is not giving up without a fight.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is hailed as the product that could turn Chrysler's fortunes around, and now they've unveiled their most upscale version yet. Called the Overland Summit, the top-spec Grand Cherokee will be unveiled at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. It features chrome everything on the outside and an interior upgraded with Nappa leather, Berber floor mats and Black Olive wood trim.

Jeep will also be unveiling a special version of one of its smaller offerings as well. Called the Liberty Jet, it packs a host of otherwise optional equipment bundled as standard with chrome trim and blacked-out headlamps to distinguish itself on the outside. Both models hit dealerships in December.

Liberty Electric Cars to Convert Thousands of Luxury Autos

Over in the UK there's a new company in town called Liberty Electric Cars, and it's looking to turn the electric car industry on its head. Liberty Electric Cars has plans to take £30 million and use it to convert "tens of thousands" of luxury vehicles over to electric power. The world's first zero emission electrically powered Range Rover will be among their offerings, and depending on the model the Rovers will be priced at £95,000 - £125,000 (or about $187,000 - $246,000). Apparently the electric power technology they plan to use is cutting edge and will result in cars with more power and longer time between charges. Sounds cool but too good to be true? Guess we'll find out!

A Hummer Made of Candy

Artist Heidi Heiss must be even more upset by the discontinuation of the Hummer H1 than we are - just kidding. She made this candy-coated Hummer as a tribute to "the soldiers who gave candies to children during the war." It is a life sized HumVee that is made of gumballs, steel and wire mesh. This one was on display at the MOCA Tucson in Arizona, but it's easy to imagine it ending up in the car collection of someone who really wants something different.
