I like this bag, but it is one of those rare occasions where the back side looks better than the front. The silver-tone hardware looks sharp against the turquoise leather, but the abundance of leather fobs hanging around is distracting. There is lots of storage in the front zippered pockets and an interior zip pocket, and the wide strap is adjustable canvas. The other side of the bag is plain and simple - just a large expanse of pretty turquoise leather. The bag opens with a zip top and features black canvas lining. Measurements: 15½" W x 15 ½" H x 6½" D. $1405.

Silly name, gorgeous bag. Modern and glowing, the shape is rather ordinary, but the details are not. The large flap front is free of adornment, allowing the unique handle and strap to be the focus of attention. With a 3" drop, the solid handle has just the right amount of heft and looks comfortable to carry thanks to the leather padding. The 11½" chain shoulder strap is substantial, but not chunky, and the overall look is delicate. Measuring 11½"L x 2"W x 8¾"H, it is lined and features interior zip, cell and wallet slip pockets. $159.

There is something familiar about this bag that I can't quite put my finger on. I feel I've seen the color and the top-stitched handles before, but the elongated shape is definitely fresh. A roomy 15" x 12½", the bag sports gold-tone hardware and an interesting braided detail. What I like best is the wide 11½" straps. A bag this size can get pretty heavy when loaded and that extra support makes it a lot easier on the shoulder. With a magnetic snap closure, the interior has both zipper and cellphone pockets. $418.

I like the long, lean look of this bag. The cream colored leather is pebbled for texture and the gentle gathering adds softness. The simple logo medallion looks sharp and goes well with the over sized strap rings. I like it when a designer pays as much attention to the interior of a bag as the exterior. This one has a pretty black and white floral print lining and a 6" zipper pocket as well as two patch pockets. Well-sized at 7"H x 11"L with a 13" strap drop, the bag sells for $228.

What does this bag remind you of? It may look like shiny green bubble wrap, but it is actually quilted black patent leather. I like the size and shape, but I just can't get past the bubbly pattern. Maybe it's just a bad photo. The front zipper detail looks good, but is it just for looks are can you actually store things in there? It has a zip top closure and rather chunky gold-tone hardware, including over-sized protective feet. Lined in black twill, the bag measures 12½ high by 16" wide by 5" deep and has 7½" strap drop. $395.

I love the details on this bag. The bright white leather shopper is dressed up with a wide strip of leather dotted with resin 'stones' held in place by gold-tone grommets. They look like bubbles and make me think of parties and Champagne. The clear vinyl strips around the bag and on the corners don't do much for me, but they mostly disappear anyway. With wide straps and a large zip top, the bag opens to zip, wall and cell phone pockets. It measures 17 ½"W x 15"H x 1"D and has a 10" strap drop. $855.

Coach's Carly style gets a size upgrade in this larger version of the relatively new shape. Slighter bigger in all directions, it measures 17" x 13" x 6" and has 7" handle drop. Like the smaller version, it is available in five colors, but only this parchment color has the trim in a contrasting hue. The red, brown, black and camel versions all have the leather accents in a similar tone. I prefer the contrast as it really puts the spotlight on the leather trim with all those brass details, including including studs, turnlocks, rings and even a dog-leash clip. The zip-top bag is lined and features internal zip, cell and accessory pockets. $498.
