Lamborghini Reventón Roadster Images Leak Ahead of Frankfurt

Looks like it'll be an all-out supercar showdown next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In addition to the McLaren MP4-12C and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG – not to mention the Ferrari 458 Italia – Lamborghini will reportedly be showing off the roadster version of its million-plus dollar Reventón.

Sporting the same stealth fighter-inspired angular bodywork as the standard Reventón that was unveiled two years ago at the same auto show, the new topless Lambo will reportedly make use of its all-wheel drive system to help the run to 60 in just 3.4 seconds. Top speed is expected to be well over 200 miles per hour, as you'd expect from an Italian supercar with a mid-mounted 650-horsepower V12 powerplant.

Don't Wait for Your Lamborghini

If you had looked into getting a Lamborghini last year it would have been 12 long months of waiting before your new car would have arrived. Happily, the recent recession has halved wait times to just six months which means you can show off your wealth in a $200,000 hot Italian ride sooner than you thought. Since sales have decreased by 30 percent Lamborghini has slowed its production to stay just behind demand with the hope that sales will return to pre-downturn levels by 2012. Sadly, the largest dealer in the U.S. based out of Orange County closed its doors last fall so you can't just pick up your shiny new ride while visiting the California coast but that shouldn't keep you from striking while the iron is hot...or at least not delayed.

Lamborghini Spyder raises $270k for MS at Charity Auction

This year's Race to Erase MS charity fundraiser gala in Los Angeles raised a record $2 million for the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis, aided by the generous bid of $270,000 for the first new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder to be delivered to the United States. The bid was placed by Malibu couple Kymberly Gold, co-founder of True Religion Jeans, and music producer Victor Newman, who will receive the car next month when US deliveries of the exotic roadster are scheduled to begin. The car was prepared specially by Lamborghini for the charity event, held this past weekend at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, in black with orange accents to mirror the charity's colors.

Toro Tractor Concept takes Lamborghini Back to its Roots

Agricultural equipment isn't something we usually cover here at Luxist, but for every rule there's an exception. With aspiring designers rendering everything from concept cars and motorbikes to high-heeled shoes in the Lamborghini image, one designer thought it was about time the famed Italian sportscar-maker go back to its roots. The company's founder Ferruccio Lamborghini started out making tractors, and only got into the sportscar business after a notorious encounter with arch-rival Enzo Ferrari left insulted and defiant. Decades of exotic supercars later, Canadian designer Jason Battersby dreamed up the concept you see here. Called the Toro, it brings Lamborghini back to its source, blending themes from the company's latest sportscars with its agricultural roots. Of course this is just a design exercise, so don't get visions of tilling the fields at some Tuscan villa at breakneck speeds just yet. But it is a compelling vision.

Scotland Hotel Hires A Lambo To Lure Guests

A month ago we mentioned that a London hotel is offering a Maserati Quattroporte to lure customers into a stay, now the Scotsman reports that the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel in Edinburgh is offering a chance to take a Lamborghini Gallardo for a spin. The £600 per person package makes the hotel the only one in Britain to offer a Lamborghini to its guests. The Lamborghini package includes a double room on the hotel's butler service floor with complimentary champagne 24 hours a day and access to a private library. There have already been five bookings for the package.
