This home is located in the growing town of Zephyr Cove in Nevada and sits on the scenic shores of Lake Tahoe. The home was built in 1993 but has been remodeled with an eye toward creating wide open spaces for entertaining. The home has five bedrooms, a large open family room, a media room and a private office. With 8,000 square feet there is plenty of room inside but outside is even more beautiful with a deep water pier, green lawns, waterfalls and ponds. The home is listed at $12.5 million. Bob's at the Beach, Estate of the Day

We've written about Bob's at the Beach before. it's a legendary Lake Tahoe rental which features an indoor swimming pool with a waterfall and a bar made from a wooden Chris Craft boat. Now the four-bedroom contemporary home which was created by the late Bob Lindner, a celebrity jeweler, is on the market. The master bedroom has a circular bed and the home includes a pizza kitchen. The home is designed for entertaining and also has a wine cellar, outdoor bar area, gym, and each guest suite has a mini bar. Bob's can be yours for $7.95 million. Crystal Waters, Estate of the Day

Another beauty in one of my favorite places, Lake Tahoe, Crystal Waters offers gorgeous mountain views in Incline Village, Nevada. The home is carved into the side of the mountain and has over 6,000 square feet of space. Two of the four bedrooms have fireplaces and the living room has a fireplace and wet bar. The first floor features a gourmet kitchen with a large island and a dining area. The home has a private pier with an electric boat hoist and buoy. The home is being sold fully furnished for $6.2 million. Given some of the other estates we have seen in the area, it's practically a bargain.

Shakespeare's Island, Estate of the Day

Most property tours that we see for multimillion dollar properties look like clips from "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" but the property tour for Shakespeare's Island in Lake Tahoe is more of an "On Golden Pond" type of mini-documentary. The video focuses on the family traditions (the land has been in the same family since 1910) and the natural beauty of the location. The land in Glenbrook, Nevada has a three-bedroom main house, a lakeview cabin, a bunk house and a beach cabana. It has been used as a getaway for the barbecue and boating set. The unspoiled nature of the land harks back to a time before people with money discovered just how beautiful the Lake Tahoe region is. The property has been on the market for a while, most likely because the new owner would need to build a main home on the site. It is listed at $14.5 million.

The Lodge at Southwind

A new condo project has been announced by the Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe. The Lodge at Southwind will be part of Southwind at Lake Tahoe, a $100 million townhouse complex which is being created on the slopes near the resort.The 65 condos will sell for between $219,000 and $799,000 and will have a rustic look aimed at attracting skiers and snowboarders. The lodge will have four stories with a restaurant, bar, convenience store and other amenities on the first floor, and condos on the upper three levels. Reservations are being accepted immediately with a refundable $5,000 deposit and the condos can be put into a rental pool. The lodge should open at the end of next year.

Northstar Resort Offers New Apres Ski Options

If you are thinking of skiing Tahoe this winter, the Village at Northstar has created new après ski opportunities to keep you entertained off the mountain. There is a new wine and coffee bar that features Starbuck's espresso drinks and wines based on a rotating schedule of different wineries. There will be tasting flights and winemaker dinners will be part of the upcoming schedule. There is also a new store, Elite Feet, that offers ski and snowboard boots. A village concierge is available for special requests. The Luv Shack Bar sits on top of the Village Center Building with a view of the ice rink and portable bars will also be stationed around the ice rink. Upcoming stores planned for the future include Euro Snack which will feature French baguette style hot dogs and a S’mores Kiosk offering s’mores kits, hot chocolate and warm cocktails. Northstar has plenty of slopes and a Pipes and Parks area for snowboarders.
