Tiffany Key - just $100If you loved the beautiful Tiffany & Co. Key Collection we recently highlighted, you'll love this -- you can get a Tiffany Key, like the Heart Key Charm with Tiffany Blue® Enamel Finish (right) for $200 or less.

It might be the perfect Mother's Day (May 10th) gift, or just a little something you do for yourself. Why not engrave it with Mom's initials or with something special to you?

The keys, which can cost up to $15,000 (for the Round Kaleidoscope Key Pendant with Marquise which features square and round brilliant diamonds in platinum on a platinum and diamond chain), come at a wide range of prices. At any price, all the key pendants have the vintage charm and fanciful glamour of Tiffany's. Below are our favorite "Small Splurges:"

Tiffany Keys
Tiffany & Co. has a new collection of keys you're going to love.

There's something so intriguing and exciting about a key. A key represents mystery, privilege, and secrecy, and perhaps most importantly, security -- something that is hard to come by lately. The new Tiffany & Co. Key Collection has all that plus more -- including diamonds.

Alas, these beautiful keys are more magical than practical; none of them open any doors. Still, the elegant, beautiful designs could capture any heart, and a simple engraving could add timeless meaning and individuality to one of these key pendants.

The Tiffany keys come in gold, silver, and platinum with Celtic inspired designs, diamond details, and an array of matching chains is available. Shop here, and have a look at some of our favorite designs below.

Gorgeous, Limited Edition "Key of Life"

Filed under: Jewelry, Charity, Children, Big Givers

Sparkly!
The "Key of Life" might not open any doors, but it will certainly catch a lot of eyes! What you see above is actually an 18ct white gold charm weighing 18 grams, handset with 2 carats of brilliant cut VS G color diamonds. It is intended to be worn on a chain as a necklace or, if you're very fancy, your finest charm bracelet.

But it's more than just a pretty key. Each $5,000 Key of Life provides 18 patients with HIV/AIDS care for one year in a Keep a Child Alive treatment center in Africa. And yes, your $5,000 purchase is thusly tax deductible.

The limited edition Key of Life charms by Alexander Amosu are available exclusively through Keep a Child Alive. Only 100 keys were made, and the first was presented to KCA Co-Founder and Global Ambassador Alicia Keys.

Hotel Doors Go High-Tech

Filed under: Gadgets, Luxury Travel & Hotels, Services

In the near future you may get to feel like you're in a Mission Impossible movie as you check into your hotel room by first providing a fingerprint and then standing still while a camera scans your iris. High-end hotels are forever seeking the next great thing when it comes to providing their customers with the best service and security, not to mention they're also always looking for new ways to save money and be more environmentally friendly in the process. The commonly used plastic key cards are on their way out in favor new options like paper cards, cell phone frequency identification, fingerprints, and iris scans.

It will be many years before any of these new features are widely available but many hotels are already trying out (or are in the slow process of switching exclusively to) these new high-tech methods, some of which are a little controversial (i.e. privacy is a concern when handing over fingerprints). What do you think -- great idea or don't fix what isn't broken?
