Jimmy Choo For H&M

Fast fashion just got a boost with the announcement that H&M is partnering with shoe and handbag brand Jimmy Choo. The luxury brand, famous for sky-high stilettos and large purses, will create a line of shoes, bags and accessories for men and women that arrive in stores on November 14. Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo's founder and chief executive, promises "a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection - the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!"

Jimmy Choo will create clothing for H&M which will be designed to match the accessories rather than the other way around. With all the designers pairing up with lower-priced stores there has been a bit of high-low fatigue lately but this particular collaboration should be a hot seller.

The Jimmy Choo Rosie Leopard Print Bag, in keeping with the Riki Bag we featured the other day, is another brave and accomplished use of leopard printed patent leather by Jimmy Choo.

This delightful, shiny green 8"W X 7½"H X 2½"D purse has ultrasuede lining, interior and exterior pockets, and a 22" adjustable strap. The goldtone grommets and fliplock closure give this bag an air of opulence and glamour. We'd love to see this paired with a white outfit and a bold, red lip.

We are also refreshed by the dark, foresty emerald color -- seems like everything's been grassy for the last two years. Well done, Jimmy Choo!

Jimmy Choo rarely disappoints whether it's shoes or handbags. Certainly his new saucy duo, Lola & Lois, is no exception. With their similar patent leather look and chunky size they make for hefty handbags. Each has its own distinct look -- Lois sports a detachable mini-messenger bag while Lola presents in a sassy Bordeaux color -- so you really can't go wrong preferring one over the other. Its feels a bit early to me to be breaking out the patent leather but if you buy it now then you'll be ready when the seasons change. Both are available for $2,495.

It's fully lined with a small "Jimmy Choo" logo stamp on the outside and another logo on the inside. Kim Kardashian's Charity Fashion Auction

Take a Tour of the New W Istanbul

As my colleague Deidre Woollard noted the other day, Istanbul has become something of a hotspot for foriegn brands. In addition to the Christian Dior boutique she wrote about, Marc Jacobs, Chloé, Bottega Veneta and Jimmy Choo have all recently opened shops in the Besiktas district, aka the SoHo of Istanbul. The centerpiece of the neighborhood is undoubtedly Starwood's new W Istanbul (which she mentioned as well). This is the first European outpost for W, the fastest growing luxury hotel brand in the world with 22 properties and 18 more in development. Here's a tour of the hip new hotel which W constructed out of a row of beautiful 1870s townhouses. The W Istanbul features 134 luxurious guest rooms including 26 suites -- many with their own private gardens, terraces and cabanas -- a branch of chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's New York hotspot Spice Market, a sexy Sip Lounge bar, and a signature spa. It also boasts spectacular views of the Bosphorus, the renowned waterway between the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara.

Jimmy Choo lovers heads up: the president and founder Tamara Mellon has "upped her ante" this fall by creating the Jet Set Collection. Designed as the perfect compliment to the fast paced high-flying lifestyle of Jimmy Choo clients, the Bari Bag represents the first time the brand label has stepped into the arena of an "utilitarian, albeit chic" design.

The Bari Bag was created with the help of creative director Sandra Choi. It's a crocodile bag with beautiful Bugatti construction, a bold zipper that allows the bag to expand, and its own fur blanket. Oh, and don't forget the $28,000 price tag.

Jimmy Choo Ramona Zebra Print Tote, Handbag of the Day

Animal prints can be tricky to wear. In most instances, a little goes a long way, but they're fun to wear so it's not a bad idea to have a piece or two in your closet at home. Zebra print can be a little more forgiving than leopard or other spotted prints because stripes are a bit easier to work with and black and white is easy to accessorize.
