Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Hotel Open For Business
Filed under: Luxury Travel & Hotels

I've written before about Jimmy Buffett's impressive empire. In addition to being a successful touring musician and novelist Buffett has a carved out a huge business based on a couple of his songs. There is a whole chain of Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants and Margaritaville cafes in a variety of places including New Orleans, Las Vegas and several Florida resort towns in addition to a beer line made by made by Anheuser-Busch, a tequila made by Seagram, branded clothing, drink blenders and more. All told it reportedly bringing in around $40 million a year. That number might swell with the opening of the first Margaritaville Hotel which debuted on the barrier island of Pensacola Beach in the Gulf of Mexico at the end of last month. Although this isn't optimum timing the 162-room hotel was two years in the making.
