JetBlue's Promise Program Offers Flight Refunds

jet blue promise
JetBlue Airways is showing that they are sensitive to those suffering in this economy. They will be providing refunds to those who lost their jobs after they already planned trips. The Jet Blue Promise Program says JetBlue customers who book flights between February 1 and June 1 and then lose their jobs on or after February 17 could be eligible for a full refund. The travelers will have to request the refund at least two weeks ahead of the travel date. JetBlue is hoping that this will encourage those who may be on the fence about traveling due to job insecurity worries to make travel plans anyway.

The Ultimate Airline Perk: In-Flight Email Access

No matter how rich you are and no matter what kind of perks the airlines may offer you in first class to make your flight more comfortable, there's one thing that they've never offered no matter who you are: mid-flight wi-fi internet access.

JetBlue is changing that. They aren't offering enough bandwidth to surf the net necessarily, but just enough to make checking and sending emails through Blackberries and other devices, even laptops, possible. The new perk is now being offered on select flights only, on a trial basis. But JetBlue expects within about six months to be rolling out internet access company-wide.

JetBlue to Offer Internet In-Flight

JetBlue Airways, which offers discounted fares but lots of appealing perks, has just won a 1 megahertz wireless license from the FCC with a bid of $7 million. This means that the company will be able to offer wireless air-ground internet access, which it plans to do shortly, and other on-board communication services to fliers. It has not yet been determined whether cellphone usage will be allowed any time soon, though it is possible under the new service package. In any event, opening up the option to work online will be a huge boon to business travelers.

Surfing the internet will also be a good choice for those traveling for pleasure. For example, instead of watching the in-flight film, you could be reading Luxist!

JetBlue Gives Their Passengers Bliss

Filed under: Spas, Wings, Cosmetics and Fragrance

While most airlines have been gradually peeling away the amenities, JetBlue is actually adding something for their customers. The Associated Press reports that JetBlue will offer mini spa kits from Bliss. Their Shut-Eye kit includes mint lip balm, eye mask, earplugs and the popular Bliss body butter. The kits will be distributed flights between the East Coast and the West. The airline is also now offering a self-serve pantry with snacks as part of an attempt to lure back customers. JetBlue, which came on like gangbusters when first launched has reported its first quarterly loss and so are hoping to lure back customers with the freebies.
