Summitridge Drive, Estate of the Day

Dated or divine? Today's Beverly Hills home, the former residence of the late Janet Leigh and Robert Brandt is the kind of 1970s home that is either in need of a teardown or in need of loving preservation depending on your mindset (certainly the Real Estalker's commenters are of two minds about it). The four-bedroom home was built in 1976 and has brick fireplaces, wood-covered walls and vaulted ceilings. The tones are predominately neutral here and give the home a calm energy. The kitchen could use a major refresh but there's a lot to love here in the simple, angular lines. One nice detail is the bridge over the main living area that connects the upstairs bedroom wings. The gated property includes a tennis court, pool and two-car garage. The couple purchased this home in the Beverly Hills Post Office in 1976 for $357,500. It is listed at $3.395 million.
