Steve McQueen Style: 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Luso for Sale at $1.6 Million

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

1964 ferari berlinetta lusso
In honor of the 80th anniversary of Steve McQueen's birth, global online luxury marketplace JamesList is offering a 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso for sale nearly identical to the one owned by the legendary actor. The "King of Cool"'s own 1963 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso, the jewel in his collection of exotic sports cars, was sold at auction in 2007 for $2.3 million; this one is priced at about $1.6 million. In production for barely 18 months, only 350 of the coveted cars were built, making it one of the most sought-after of all Ferrari's front-engined V-12 powered gran turismos. The Berlinetta Lusso on offer was owned by world famous conductor Herbert von Karajan and was built in 1964. Originally introduced at the 1962 Paris Motor Show, the Lusso combined the best features of the 250 GT Short Wheelbase Berlinetta and the 250 GTO in one beautiful, refined, quick, responsive, luxurious package, wrapped in one of Pininfarina's most attractive designs. The car on offer, finished in silver with a red leather interior, was completely restored by the Modena-based specialist Brandoli in 1985 and remains in pristine condition.

Joseph Stalin's ZIL Limousine for Sale

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

stalin limousine
A 1949 ZIL ZIS-110 limousine that belonged to Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin is being offered for sale in Finland via global online luxury marketplace JamesList at an undisclosed price. The car, a sort of Russian Rolls-Royce, is based on the Packard Super Eight and powered by a 6 liter, 8 cylinder engine producing 140 hp with a top speed of over 87 mph. Stalin was supposedly given a Packard by FDR during the war and was so impressed that he ordered ZIL to copy it. Stalin used the vehicle, a landaulet painted Soviet green, as a parade car from 1950–1953, a fact borne out by documents from Russia's Ministry of Defense as well as archival photos. Restored to complete perfection, it has only 1276 km on it and features a stately leather interior. See the gallery for pix.

JamesList succeeds because it provides something unique for buyers who are simply interested in owning the best."

Thirteen Lamborghini Reventons Now Available on JamesList

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Back in March 2009 Reuters was astonished to report that seven out of the 20 ultra-exclusive Lamborghini Reventon supercars in the world were being offered for sale on a single website, global online luxury marketplace JamesList. Exactly one year later we can reveal that number has nearly doubled to 13, meaning that 65% of the total Reventons in existence are now available on the one site. Prices for the 650 hp beauties range from $1.4 million - $2 million with cars on offer located in the U.S., U.K., UAE, Germany and Switzerland. Perhaps the guy who just bought 10 Aston Martin One-77s will snatch up the lot. Meanwhile, JamesList also has listings for 4 out of the 15 recently unveiled Reventon Roadsters, which are even more exclusive than the original.

Noam Perski is the visionary founder and CEO of JamesList, now the world's largest online luxury marketplace, launched in 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden. After leading pioneering Internet startups in Scandinavia, Perski spent five years working full time on HIV and other global health issues in Geneva, Switzerland, before launching JamesList, which has since expanded to open offices in Marbella, Spain with representation in London, Frankfurt, Singapore and Miami. "Given the recent roller-coaster of currency and market fluctuations, we saw an opportunity to give serious buyers the tools they need to find premium goods at the best possible price, regardless of where they are in the world," Perski says.

The brilliantly-designed site works with a network of more than 400 professional dealers around the world, from Dallas to Dubai, to list more than 35,000 jets, yachts, luxury cars, motorcycles, helicopters and timepieces - including five prized watches priced at $1 million or more - for sale. Where else can you find a dozen $30 million-plus superyachts, 30 Bugatti Veyrons, 80 Ducatis, 700 Ferraris and 900 Patek Philippes all in one place? There's even a special section listing over 600 customized models, like the $2 million Spanish "supercar art", from across the luxury spectrum. In the gallery, Perski reveals his 10 essential luxuries, from classic cars to custom Rolexes and his pick for the best hotel in Europe, and explains what makes them a must.

Rolls Royce Ghost "Numero Uno" by Deutsche Manufaktur for $670,000

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Just because it's being touted as the "baby" Rolls-Royce doesn't mean the new Ghost EX200 won't attract the attention of exotic auto tuners looking to kick it up a notch. Germany's Deutsche Manufaktur has already listed their tweaked version for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for $670,000. Dubbed the "Numero Uno", the styling package "merges aggression and luxury using the precision quality of Deutsche's technology". A widened front makes the Ghost look more "bullish and strong," while the extended grill "sends signals of pride" and the "angry eyes express style". The windows feature intelligent glass that dims at the touch of a button. Inside you can choose from various finishes of wood, carbon fiber or Alcantara in addition to hand-stitched leather for the upholstery in various colour combinations, as well as a custom steering wheel and a three-part set of aluminum pedals and brake handle.

$450K Armor-Plated Porsche Panamera for Sale

We've seen the bag of tricks the exotic auto tuners have used on the brand new four-door Porsche Panamera - now how about a bulletproof version? An armored Porsche Panamera Turbo has just been listed for sale in Frankfurt, Germany via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for €295,000, or about $450,000. It comes equipped with armored steel in the doors, posts, overlaps and walls, and ballistic steel in the roof and floor; bulletproof glass; run flat tires; an armored fuel tank; armored battery and radiator protection; and more. Capable of stopping 9mm rounds as well as an assault from an M16 or .44 Magnum, the car's impressive performance is not hampered in any way by its added security measures.

Custom Tramontana Supercar "Art" for Sale at $2.9 Million

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos, Art

A unique customized Spanish Tramontana supercar (above) hand-painted by renowned artist Fernando Leal-Audirac is for sale in Milan via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for €2 million, or about $2.95 million. The twin-turbo Tramontana R, unveiled over at our sister site Autoblog earlier this year, has a V12 engine capable of 760 hp and a 0 -100 kph time of 3.6 seconds. Leal-Audirac used special metallic paints enriched with gold and the powder of precious gems - hence the pricetag - to paint the carbon fiber-bodied exotic auto, designed in homage to the famed Hispano-Suiza marque. The iridescent colors react to movement and light changing them from purple to cobalt blue, and from green to gold. The car is "the synthesis of the artist's poetic vision in which art, tradition, technique, design and technology coexist through a constant research, incarnating the charm, the myth and the dynamics of contemporaneity," the artists notes.

Lamborghini Reventon Roadster for Sale at $2 Million

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The Lamborghini Reventon Roadster, a convertible version of the famed Italian marque's most coveted creation, has seen its price increase just a few weeks after it was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Lamborghini announced that fewer than 20 and perhaps as little as 10 examples of the topless supercar (see video above) would be built, priced at €1.1 million or about $1.5 million. As with the original Reventon, however, it is thought that the limited edition Roadsters were quickly snapped up, and at least one early purchaser is already looking to turn a profit: a Reventon Roadster has now been listed for sale in Berlin via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for €1.45 million or $2.1 million. The car's 6.5 liter V12 engine pumps out 670 hp and can do 0 - 100 kph (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph.

Maltese Falcon Superyacht Gets a $40 Million Price Cut

Back in May The Classicist reported that the amazing 289-ft. Maltese Falcon, the world's largest, best designed, and most expensive sailing yacht, was for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList at €99 million or about $138 million. Now the price has been lowered to €70 million, a drop of about $40 million for a new price of about $99 million. Built by Perini Navi for venture capitalist Tom Perkins in 2006, it remains the ne plus ultra of sailing superyachts, a masterpiece of technology and design, and was recently featured on the cover of Luxury Toys: Top of the World. Her revolutionary sailing system - the DynaRig - set a new milestone in yachting history: three self-standing and rotating masts hosting 15 sails for a total sail area of 25,791 square feet for unrivaled, performance maneuverability and record-shattering speed; she can complete Atlantic crossings in ten days.

Ultra-Rare Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 GT for Sale at $2 Million

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

An ultra-rare Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 GT racecar, one of only 21 that will be built for customers worldwide, is being offered for sale in Germany via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for about $2 million. Developed by British motor racing specialists RML Group (Ray Mallock Ltd) the "puristic super-sportscar" is not street legal, but was designed for the SLR. CLUB Trophy, a competition series forming part of the SLR. CLUB racetrack programme in Europe. The "722" refers to the victory by Stirling Moss in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR with the starting number 722 at the Mille Miglia in 1955.

The car has been stripped down bare essentials controlled from a carbon fiber binnacle. New carbon fiber door panels and full roll cage complete the transformation and result in a lower weight allowing the 671 hp AMG engine to go from 0-62 mph in only 3.3 seconds. New body components such as a front apron with front splitter, wide wings, prominent side skirts, large rear diffuser and fixed rear spoiler improve aerodynamics and enhance racetrack performance. Check out a video of Jeremy Clarkson testing out this amazing supercar after the jump.

The $500,000 Bulletproof Bentley

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Sure, you could get yourself an off-the-rack Bentley Continental Flying Spur, but what happens when the s--t goes down? Better perhaps to be prepared with an armored version that can stop an AK-47 dead in its tracks. For about $500,000 you can pick one up in Germany via global online luxury marketplace JamesList. Featuring military-grade B6-level protection, the upgrade makes this super-luxe sedan war zone-ready. With no virtually alteration to the outside appearance and adjustments to handle the extra weight without sacrificing the 552-hp engine's performance, the changes are subtle but effective: ballistic steel in the doors, pillars, overlaps and sides of the vehicle, bulletproof glass, run flat tires, an explosion-proof gas tank, kevlar flooring, and more. Other security options include a self-contained oxygen supply system in case of a poison gas attack and exploding hinge bolts that blast open the doors should a speedy exit become imperative.

Overmarine Mangusta 165 Superyacht for Sale at $40 Million

Mangusta 165
The world's largest open yacht, the gorgeous Overmarine Mangusta 165 (above), has surfaced for sale from the Rodriguez Group via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for about $40 million. The 165-ft. superyacht can hit a top speed of 33 knots with its twin MTU 16V 4000 M93 engines producing 4556 hp. The craft breaks the open yacht record previously held by Rodriguez Group with the Mangusta 130'. The interior of the yacht, first shown at the Salon Nautique in Cannes, features five staterooms and is finished in a luxurious, elegant combination of neutral fabrics and dark woodwork. The 165's interior includes an expansive main salon with cocktail tables, a long bar, and a surfeit of seating. Two pop-up, back-to-back flat-screen televisions face the main salon and the adjacent dining room. The craft's aft deck covers a garage that contains tenders and toys and opens hydraulically at the push of a button.

Another Pur Sang Offered Up in the Great Veyron Sell-Off

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos, Wealth

Earlier this year we reported on two ultra-exclusive $3 million Bugatti Veyron Pur Sangs, the world's most expensive production vehicle of which only five were built, being put up for sale. The first of the special edition cars with exposed carbon fiber and aluminum bodywork, which sold out within 24 hours of their original announcement, was offered up in Abu Dhabi. The next one surfaced a couple of weeks later in Frankfurt, Germany where the car was originally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Now a third Pur Sang has been listed for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList in Munich.

With the other two Pur Sangs already on the block as previously noted, only two of the cars seemingly remain in private hands. Also back in April we noted that 18 Veyrons were on offer via JamesList; that number has now swelled to 23, or nearly one-fifth of all Veyrons built to date. The cheapest is a 2005 model with 29,000 miles on it offered at €789,000 or about $1.09 million. Obviously the pitiful economy means many people are having to try and unload these agonizingly expensive automotive status symbols.

World's Most Expensive SUV for Sale at $300,000

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

One of the very first models of the Spyker D8 Peking-to-Paris, the world's most expensive SUV, is being offered for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for about $300,000. The vehicle is being offered for delivery shortly after the Frankfurt Motor Show in September where the production version will make its long-awaited debut. The custom-built four-wheel drive four-door is styled a "Super Sport Utility Vehicle" or SSUV, with supercar performance. The Peking-to-Paris model commemorates Spyker's participation in the 1907 cross-country race of that name. The incredibly luxurious interior is completely fitted out in glove-soft leather.
