Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie Wear Belstaff in 'The Tourist'

Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie both sport items from luxe British outerwear company Belstaff in their stylish new movie The Tourist. Jolie wears a waterproof parka while Depp sports a military-style overcoat and leather briefcase. In addition, during filming Depp was spotted wearing a leather blouson jacket by Belstaff that was in fact made for his 2009 movie Public Enemies (see the gallery). While Depp's coat is unfortunately not available to the general public, his briefcase and Jolie's jacket will be this spring.

The Tourist Parka, which Jolie wears in the movie's boating scenes (above), is made of waterproof, breathable self-shining fabric and with an adjustable drawcord and large, snug hood. It's priced at $795. The Office Bag, Depp's vintage style leather briefcase, is priced at $775. Belstaff was a favorite of Steve McQueen and has also outfitted Brad Pitt in Inglorious Basterds, Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible and War of the Worlds, Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code, Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns and George Clooney in Leatherheads.

The Classicist: Barbour Launches the Ltd. Edition Steve McQueen Collection

EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW: Two icons of authentic sporting style come together in classic British outerwear brand Barbour's cool new limited edition collection designed in homage to the great Steve McQueen, set to launch this fall. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of their iconic International clothing range, which the King of Cool wore while motorcycle racing in the 1960s, the capsule collection of 19 pieces features several new jackets, shirts and sweaters inspired by archival photos of the actor racing motorbikes and driving his collection of classic sports cars. McQueen first donned a Barbour International jacket when he represented the United States team in the 1964 International Six Day Trials (ISDT) motorcycle race in East Germany. The ISDT (now known as the International Six Days Enduro), one of the most challenging moto racing events in the world, requires each rider to cover 200 miles a day over hellish terrain.

Prior to the event in '64 Steve McQueen and other members of U.S. team stopped off in London and bought six-pocket Barbour Internationals, derived from a one-piece racing suit first offered by the firm in 1936, as a defence against the vagaries of European weather. McQueen quickly became enamored of the International's weather-defying qualities and rugged utility, wearing it in several grueling moto races over the years. Classic images of McQueen in his Barbour grace the linings of the jackets in the new collection. Standout pieces include the Penton (above, $799) and Baker ($599) waxed cotton jackets featuring stars and stripes linings and U.S. flags on the left chest, faithfully recreating the jacket that McQueen wore in the '64 ISDT. Two other wax cotton jackets, the Trophy ($429) and the Greenham ($399), reflect McQueen's effortless style on and off the racecourse. [cont'd]

A Wonderful Winterland of Coats

It's officially winter and it seems like mother nature is not messing around this season. Frigid temperatures, face numbing winds and knee high snow storms are being seen around the world. I must admit, I was really hoping winter would start much later in 2011 or perhaps not at all. Ha! Wishful thinking.

If you're like me and you haven't yet purchased a suitable winter coat, or you just want a stylish update to last year's coat - no need to worry. We've searched and selected 11 winter coats that will provide comfort, warmth and show off your fashionable taste.

One of my favorite coats is by Moncler. The French company makes coats and jackets that balances a sense of fashionable style with functional necessity. Everyone wants to look good while keeping warm. The company originally starting out making winter gear for workers who had to endure the cold for long hours, and then moved into creating a wide assortment of winter gear for mountain climbers and those on expeditions. You can be sure that once you buy a Moncler coat, you will be warm in the harshest of weather for years to come.

Of Moncler's many coats that we could feature, I chose the Mer Jacket ($1300).Taking a simple black down jacket, the Mer is beautifully updated and feminized with quilted detailing and a belted waist with a shiny black buckle. The fully lined Mer Jacket features 4 exterior pockets, ribbed cuffs to prevent cold air from coming through and a removable fur trim on the hood.

Stella McCartney Renee Sweater Jacket

Oversized collars add intrigue and depth to a sweater and jacket. It makes for an interesting and stylish touch that goes beyond trends. And it's this particular element in Stella McCartney's Renee Sweater Jacket ($1195) that made me take notice. The oversized collar can be zipped up and folded over for a very structured look, or wear slightly zipped up and have the collar fan out over your shoulders. The majority of the coat is in a ribbed sweater knit with camel wool around the chest and midriff. While the collar is voluminous, the sweater jacket's silhouette is rather slim and close fitting making for a balanced look of contrasting cuts.

One of our many favorite things about the dressing for Fall, aside from sexy boots, gorgeous handbags, luxurious jackets and scarves, are sweaters. As the Fall approaches, sweaters quickly become a go-to staple. They're a stylish alternative in providing warmth and coziness for days when a jacket would be overkill.

Given its winter white shade, Oscar de la Renta's Sweater Jacket ($1490) may seem like an unlikely choice for a great Fall sweater, but don't let the color dissuade you. It's the color that actually makes this such an attention grabber.

The Classicist: Dunhill Custom Tailoring for Spring & Summer

Back in March we reported that London luxury goods firm Dunhill was opening a new custom tailoring floor of its Madison Avenue flagship store in New York, the first of its kind in the U.S. Now we have more details of their custom tailoring program, featuring a selection of over 250 of the finest British and Italian cloths. Clients can create suits, jackets, trousers and shirts solely designed for their individual lifestyle or demands. Overseen by Bruno Cosentino, Dunhill's resident master tailor who personally hand makes every bespoke item, the space is entirely dedicated to the brand's exceptional tailoring service. A Dunhill custom suit undergoes 165 separate, meticulous operations performed by skilled artisans, with some 200 individual pieces going into making a jacket alone. Each jacket is expertly constructed using a floating canvas front allowing it to mold to the body over time. The Custom program offers a choice of two cuts – the House's signature St James' block, inspired by the archetypal Savile Row suit with several distinctive Dunhill touches, or the slimmer Belgravia fit defined by a suppressed waist, built up chest and sharper shoulders.

A suit can further be personalized by straight or slanted pockets, center or side vents and notch or peak lapels. Distinctive Dunhill silhouettes are enhanced by the introduction of a lightly 'roped' shoulder providing a typically English outline. This additional mark of luxury raises the crown of the sleeve slightly, ensuring the purest of lines from shoulder to sleeve. High performance fabrics are available including a 3-ply high twist super 130's wool and silk fabric in a range of blues and greys. The classic Dunhill custom blazer can be created in the finest of Camdeboo mohair (above) which is lightweight, boasts great performance properties and travels beautifully, keeping the wearer warm in the cold but cool in the heat. Each Dunhill custom item will be completed and presented within two months. Once the design of the pattern is complete, it then becomes part of the Alfred Dunhill archives, kept in reserve for returning clients seeking additional bespoke services. Dunhill's custom tailoring tradition includes a tuxedo made for Truman Capote to wear at his infamous Black & White Ball in the 1960s as well as bespoke suits made for Frank Sinatra.

Balmain Studded Military Blazer

The Balmain design house creates unapologetically bold clothing. Especially when it comes to their jackets. They are overly structured with exaggerated shoulders and adorned with pieces that look as though they can be found on window treatments - but it all works. And with famous stars like Rihanna and Beyonce having been photographed wearing Balmain jackets, Christophe Decarnin's designs have only increased in popularity. His designs look amazingly beautiful on the runway and on celebrities but may not always translate so easily into the real world. However, the Balmain Studded Military Jacket may be the exception. Made from cotton canvas, it's slightly tapered for a well tailored fit and beautifully decorated with silver studs and military patches along the along the front, sleeves, and lapel. Reality In Style Offers Simple Clothing Designed To Flatter

You may be wondering why we would promote "simple" clothing when, after all, Luxist is all about luxury and the high end of living. The answer is because sometimes you just want a t-shirt -- or a basic pair of pants, or a simple dress -- that fits, is flattering, and is made of quality material, and you're willing to pay a bit more to get something that will last longer than an item purchased at The Gap.

I recently stumbled upon Reality in Style, which, according to its website, "was created in 2009 by college best friends Denise Apicella and Rachel Blakeman. After several decades of working in various fields, Denise and Rachel were continuously frustrated by the lack of comfortable, stylish and high quality clothing." After some research -- polling real women -- and "after picking up one too many backless shirts, Denise and Rachel decided to create an affordable clothing line emphasizing comfortable fabrics and styles designed to flatter different body types."

I haven't purchased an item from the line, as it doesn't offer petite sizes, but I simply put it out there for those readers who wear what a (former) friend called "grown-up sizes." The dress shown, for example, is called Tony, and is sleeveless stretch-cotton with a pleated belt accent. $395, available in even sizes 0-14.

Shangai Tang Velvet Jacket

One reason to be excited about the end of summer and cooler weather is the return of velvet season. As my colleague Kristin Young reported earlier, velvet is hot this year. This velvet jacket from Shanghai Tang has a basic black exterior with frog closures but gets a pop of color from an embroidered 100 percent silk lining in either red or vivid turquoise. It sells for $915.

Barbour Waxed Cotton New Utility Jacket

For its Spring / Summer collection which we previewed back in March, famed British clothing company Barbour has come out with an updated version of its classic waterproof waxed jacket. While this time of year usually calls for seersucker, the weather just isn't co-operating so waterproofs are de rigeur. The New Utility jacket (above), part of the company's Contemporary line, features slimmer proportions, cargo-style pockets and a smaller collar. Lined in classic Barbour Tartan, the jacket is made of the company's classic mediumweight 6 oz. Barbour Sylkoil waxed fabric. Barbour, which was founded in 1894 and holds Royal Warrants from Queen Elizabeth II, The Duke of Edinburgh, and The Prince of Wales, is further expanding on tradition with artfully updated designs like this one.

The Quilted Riding Jacket That Stops Bullets

We've long been fans of the quilted riding jacket, as popularized by the classic British outerwear company Barbour. Now Miguel Caballero, the Colombian designer known as "The Armani of Armor", has introduced a totally bulletproof version (above), which manages to not sacrifice anything in the way of style. Since many devotees also wear this kind of jacket for upland hunting, it's practical even for those who aren't princes, presidents and out-of-favor oligarchs in fear of their lives, as some of Caballero's best customers certainly are.

Enough anti-ballistics to stop an Uzi or a .44 Magnum - never mind some birdshot - doesn't come cheap of course, but at about $10,000 the jacket is more bang for the buck so to speak than Caballero's $12,000 bulletproof polo shirt. Plus it's waterproof, with an optional stab-proof lining. Caballero's only retail location outside of South and Central America is Harrod's in London, but the company takes special orders directly. They'll even make you one of these in cashmere if you insist (we asked).

I want to be outside in the freezing cold, sipping on my triple grande white chocolate mocha and wearing this unbelievably beautiful cashmere bomber jacket by Richard Chari.
