Stefano Marcantonio Elenore, Handbag of the Day

Although python is everywhere this season, it's hard to find a bag that does it in a timeless, classy way. When shopping for python, you don't want something that's going to be yesterday's news tomorrow. Enter designer Stefano Marcantonio, a master craftsman who has recently brought his Milan collection to New York. Known for his ample use of exotic leathers, his python-saturated collection this season brings a range of classy bags you can take anywhere. We're loving the Elenore, a rich red python clutch with gorgeous gold hardware to match. And it's a roomier clutch than most, meaning you don't have to save it for the black tie events. Retails for $2500, just in time for Valentine's Day. Check out Stefano Marcantonio's site for purchasing information, and to view the entire lookbook.

Zagliani Crocodile Tote, Handbag of the Day

This one is way out of my budget, but is pretty, pretty. It is large and exotic, made from crocodile that is
silicone-injected, giving the skin a softer and more luxurious feel. The white matte finish is crisp and clean and the large, two-way zipper top gives easy access to all the compartments you could ever need - zip, phone, camera, pen and cards. Lined in suede, the Italian-made bag has 4" drop handles and is also available in black. $11,300.

Pibiones Bessude Bamboo, Handbag of the Day

Created using a traditional Sardinian weaving method known as the pibiones technique, this stunning bag has a richness of texture you don't often see. The process of creating these eco-friendly handbags is labor-intensive, but for designer Antonella, it's a labor of love. His Bessude Bamboo bag features a beautiful Rombetti design and a simple curved bamboo handle. It zips at the top and the interior has patch and mobile phone pockets as well as recycled lining. These hand-woven works of art are produced in limited numbers, all but guaranteeing that you won't see anyone else carrying your bag. € 516.

Corto Moltedo Mid Priscilla, Handbag of the Day

At first glance, this bag appeared to me to be some sort of electronic device. Upon closer inspection, I realized what looked like headphones attached to the sides of the bag are actually zippered cargo pockets. And those are leather strips hanging from the handle, not wires. At any rate, it's an unusual bag that features a woven body and contrasting hand strap. Made from Italian leather, the Priscilla bag features brass hardware and comes with a removable shoulder strap. $1128.70.

Bubola Sarah, Handbag of the Day

The Sarah bag was designed to be colorful and versatile. Attach the leather shoulder strap for everyday use, use the chain strap for evening, or just connect the rings together for an entirely different look. Inside, the bag is lined in suede and has two slide pockets and two zippered pockets, one which serves as a divider. But wait, there's more! The bag come with a detachable pouch that can be used to carry makeup or change. What looks like fur on the sides of the bag is actually lasered leather. I like the orange, but the Italian leather bag also comes in six other colors: chocolate brown, red, golden yellow, tan, blue-gray and black. $425.
