An Interior Picture Of The ICON Vallarta
We've checked out the exterior of the ICON Vallarta before, now let's check out the interior. The project is a $200 million luxury condominium development in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico by Related International with interior design by YOO by Philippe Starck. The most interesting thing about the design may be the way it plays with scale. Leave it to Philippe Starck to pair an eight-foot vase with a wall-sized mirror and a 20-foot floor lamp next to normal-sized tables and chairs (check out the giant candelabra in the foreground of the pic above). Starck was looking for a bit of an Alice in Wonderland effect and continues the idea in the building's restaurant where 30 foot trees in huge red pots will dwarf diners. Starck's avant-garde designs haven't always been a hit with buyers but hopefully this project will find adventurous owners.
