Hysek Lady Stealth Watch

The only things stealthy about this watch is that it is a watch. For artistic purposes Hysek created a complex metal case (available in steel, gold, or two tone - and even with decorated engraved surfacing). At 37mm wide, the actual watch dial itself is tiny - being in the middle of the case between the bezel and some deep skeletonization. This small space requires (for practicality) a Swiss quartz movement. The design is fascinating, I don't know how good it will look on female wrists, but it is fascinating. Note the articulating lugs meant to wrap the long 51mm tall case over smaller wrists. The strap is tapered alligator. Why did they call it the "Lady Stealth" watch? No idea - isn't the point of something like this to get noticed?

Hysek Furtif Skeleton Tourbillon Watch

In French "Furtif" means stealthy - so assume that its use in this new Hysek watch's name is a joke. There is nothing "under-the-radar" whatsoever about this new square skeletonized watch. Reminding me of a Roger Dubuis in theme (and movement), this Hysek Furtif Skeleton Tourbillon features a square titanium case and in-house made movement with the time and a flying tourbillon. While the piece is interesting, I am not really inspired by the design through pictures. Maybe I need to see it in person. The articulating lugs are interesting, and I like the gold crown and screws - to match the gold elements on the dial. Skeletonization of a movement and dial in an angular watch often looks good.

In a sense I write about the Hysek brand because I am a fan of the man who started it - Jorg Hysek. Problem is that Mr. Hysek is no longer affiliated with the brand (and has his own stuff like HD3). For super villains of the world who need a piece on their wrist to match their complex, dark, and stealthy mannerisms, this watch might do. What I really want to see if a guy in shorts mowing his lawn with one of these one. The watch will be limited to just 30 pieces and be available soon.

Jorg Hysek Kilada Power Reserve Watch

I received word sometime ago that Jorg Hysek is no longer an actual part of Jorg Hysek watches, and the newest line of these branded watches that arrived this year (including the pictured Kilada Power Reserve watch) are increasingly evident of this. Over time, the actually good designs that Jorg Hysek left are increasingly being morphed with unrefined derivatives like this model. The "Hysek" component just seems to be increasingly missing from the timepiece line. That isn't to say that each new watch the Hysek brand releases is a dog, but there are too many models, with too little soul. So if you are a fan, make sure to search out the models that are the most attractive.

The materials and construction of the watches are fine and totally commendable. So if you are keen on the looks, have no worries about getting one or learning more. This pictured model enjoys a 41mm wide DLC coated steel and rose gold case with sapphire crystal. The watch is meant to be sporty but chic. It succeeds in being somewhat both of them, but after the novelty factor wears off, you are left with a design that feels less than cohesive. Inside is a mechanical Swiss movement with an unannounced price that is likely over $25,000.
