Black Friday Hotel Packages

For those who take Black Friday really seriously, a hotel stay is the way to turn the day after Thanksgiving into its own kind of holiday. The various hotel packages vary. Some offer gift certificates and coupons to local malls. Some promise to get you into the stores early and bring you back in time for a nap. Others will fortify you with a hearty breakfast, early morning coffee or a snack pack to keep you from getting hungry while you shop. The Carlton Hotel's Giants/Jets Football Package

Whether you are a Jets fan or a Giants fan New York City's Carlton Hotel has you covered with their Meadowlands Stadium NFL 'Touchdown Package.' The historic Carlton Hotel is located in the heart of Manhattan but the package includes a private roundtrip chauffeured luxury sedan from the hotel to the newly renovated Meadowlands stadium in New Jersey. Guests check in on Friday and checkout on Sunday after the game. The package includes two nights in a standard room with one full (with upgrades when available) and two tickets to a Giants or Jets game seated in section 300 or better. The NFL package is available for all home games through January 2, 2011 and prices begin at $455 per person, plus taxes.

50-Year-Old Scotch Makes Hotel Package A Hot Gift For One Lucky Dad

You can celebrate your whisky-loving Dad with a very luxe Father's Day package at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City. The hotel possesses one of only six bottles of the Glenfiddich 50 Year Old available in North America and one lucky Dad will receive this bottle of rare single malt scotch whisky as part of the Glenfiddich Getaway for Father's Day package.

The 50-year-aged version of Glenfiddich sells for around $16,000. The Glenfiddich 50 Year Old is limited to 500 individually numbered, hand-blown glass bottles with decoration in Scottish silver. The bottles are packaged in leather-bound cases, each accompanied by a book and a signed certificate. In order to qualify as a 50-year-old whisky it must sit in its barrel unmixed with any other malt for the entire time. Some of the liquor evaporates over time (the "angel's share") making aging particularly challenging.

The Glenfiddich Getaway for Father's Day adventure begins with Bentley transport from the airport to Mandarin Oriental. The lucky father will stay at in a Central Park View Suite with views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline and will be presented with his own personal bottle of Glenfiddich 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky and a special gift from Glenfiddich. The package includes a special feast. Restaurant Asiate's Chef de Cuisine Brandon Kida will prepare a four-course Chef's Tasting dinner for two crafted to pair with Glenfiddich's 15, 18, 21 and 30 year old scotch marques. The package costs $33,100 and is June 1, 2010 - September 6, 2010. Because there is just one bottle there is just one package available.

New Fashion Inspired Hotel Opens In New York

The Wyndham Hotel chain's latest addition in New York City, Fashion 26, is geared towards the fashion and art-conscious consumers among us. Fashion 26 has 280 rooms and 22 stories of interior design inspired by the nearby Fashion District, with the lobby featuring a reception desk modeled after a fashion studio cutting-room table and a rotating art program of photography from Fashion Institute of Technology students livening up the hallways. Even the staff will be dressed in uniforms designed by the likes of Pink, Ralph Lauren, and Kangol. There's also the Rare Grill & Bar that serves specialty hamburgers and the Rare View rooftop bar that offers up 'creative cocktails.' Other touches include Crumbs cupcakes at check-in, radio frequency room keys (no swiping, just waving), and all the usual high-class amenities like turn-down service and free wireless internet. Fashion 26 celebrated April 15th as opening day and room rates, discounted to promote the launch, start at $299/night (through June).
