Grand Velas Over-The-Top Honeymoon Package

Some couples spend heavy on the wedding, others prefer to focus on the honeymoon. If you fall into the later category check out the Over the Top Honeymoon Package from the Grand Velas Resort located 15 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. The package includes a private jet from the continental US, all day fishing on a 32-ft yacht, golf daily, and a 3,300 square foot spa suite with daily massages for two. The Imperial Suite comes equipped with an in-suite spa with steam room, massage tables, and chromotherapy hydro-massage tub. An executive chef serves a gourmet food and wine pairing on the suite's vast terrace with view of the Banderas Bay. The five-night, all-inclusive package is available until December 18th and starts at $77,265.

TomKat Honeymoon Aboard the Arctic P

I've refrained myself from joining the hordes chronicling every move of newlyweds Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes thus far but news of a yacht always draws me back into the fray. The two are spending their honeymoon yachting around the Maldives aboard luxury yacht the Arctic P. The Arctic P was the yacht of the late Kerry Packer and now belongs to his son, James Packer, who was a guest at the couple's wedding in Italy on Saturday. The Artic P is a 288-foot former salvage tug which Packer customized into a luxury yacht.

More pics of the Arctic P are available at Yacht Images and also here. Due to her tug past, she's not exactly the most gorgeous megayacht I have ever seen but I am sure the accomodations are luxurious.

Where Avril and Deryck Honeymooned: The Capri Palace Hotel and Spa

Check out the place that Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley recently spent their honeymoon. They stayed at the Capri Palace Hotel & Spa in Anacapri. It has been reported that they stayed in the Megaron Suite, a 1,620-square-foot roof top penthouse which features a hanging garden, heated swimming pool, and a view of the ocean. The pricey suite costs 2,600 euros per night.

As editor of Brides.com, a new wedding portal from the publisher of Brides and Modern Bride magazines, Theresa DiMasi hears about all the top honeymoon destinations. So we asked her to pick the five best places to go this season, either because these spots are buzz-worthy or little-known (for now) destinations. Kanantik Resort

Kanantik is a resort in Belize that offers eco-friendly adventures for the romance-minded. Accommodations are located on a private and secluded beach surrounded by a rainforest. The “Romantic Honeymoon” package at Kanantik includes a six night all-inclusive stay in an air-conditioned beachfront cabana, three guided adventure tours and daily meals with gourmet dinners that can be served by candlelight on the private veranda of your cabana or on the beach. Guests of Kanantik can also hit the water in sea kayaks and Hobie Cats and scuba gear and a 42-foot Newton dive boat are at the ready. Kanantik also has its own private airstrip, serviced by local airline Tropic Air. The package costs $1,885 per person.
