The Archipod Garden Office

Working from home is becoming a more and more popular way to do business, and although it certainly has its perks for some finding the peace and quiet needed to work in a house full of kids and pets is near impossible. Enter the Archipod Garden Office, built by a company in the UK and made to be dropped off and assembled right in your own backyard. Electric, telephone, and water ready, the 'Pod' features a large dometop skylight and several round windows for natural light, plus several dimmable interior spotlights and concealed mood lighting. The work area consists of special sound-muting insulation, an ergonomic semi-circular desk in sleek white and bespoke drawer units and hardwood veneer desktop options available. The outside is covered in Western Red Cedar shingles and features a fun gullwing door that opens easily with gas strut assistance. A fun but pricey home office at £12,000+.

The Una Chair

Have you ever had a dinner party and had to press office chairs into services as dining room chairs? If so you might want to meet Una, a new chair from Jules Seltzer. Simple, classic and gorgeous it's the little details like the graceful arms and the swooping back of this chair that make the Una so appealing. Una is available in several different versions, as a mesh dining/task chair and as a low or high-backed office chair in mesh or leather. The Una starts at $861 for a chair without arms.

James Desk

If your desk is anything like mine it is often a sea of paper. The James desk from Modernlink is the antidote to that. It has slots for vertical files built into the top and a large (24 x 36) drawer in the center. The desk is made of bamboo which is farm harvested and sustainable. It is available in either a "Baked" or "Raw" finish. Raw is the color of naked bamboo while the Baked version a toasty color created by subjecting the raw bamboo to high temperatures. It sells for $5,600. There is also a smaller version, the Jimmy, which goes for $4,800.
