Seen above is the
Hautlence HL04 which continues the tradition of the HL lines of "TV screen" watches with a very classy looking version in 18k white gold. 2010 also sees a version in 18k rose gold, as well as a titanium model. Hautlence has been doing quite well as of late with their non-traditional styles, probably because they display a preservation of function and good taste. The watch dial has the time with the hours displayed by a moving disc with a "porthole," the minutes on a cool looking retrograde scale with an exposed mechanism as to how the hand works, and a traditional looking small seconds dial. It all goes together in a tasteful manner that both well balanced and unique. For this HL04, I love the rich brown crocodile strap and blued steel arms and hand that make up the retrograde minute indicator. Inside is a Hautlence manually wound mechanical movement. Look out for the upcoming HL2.0 watch soon. Price for the 2010 HL models (HL03, HL04, and HL Ti) are $62,100, $57,500, and $48,400 respectively.
