Haute Goat Creamery
The cows that eventually become wagyu beef live a pampered life so why not give the goats who produce cheese special treatment. Nancy Patton of the Haute Goat Creamery in Texas treats her beloved goats to a daily happy hour, letting them sip wine as they receive their afternoon milking. The result is smooth artisanal goat cheese from very relaxed goats. Available products include Tequila Abbey, an aged goat cheese which is given a weekly wash in tequila and chipotle, raw milk feta, goat cheese chocolate truffles and this special gift box which has a lid that serves as a cutting board, has a knife and two rounds of fresh cheese. It sells for $135 at Stanley Korshak in Dallas and Malouf's in Lubbock. [via Dallas Morning News]
