Nail Bangle

I'm undecided on what style this Nail Bangle bracelet by Connie Verrusio fits into. Inspired by hardware and mechanical parts, and "the things that hold the world together," it appears as a large nail bent around in a loop to be worn as jewelry. I like it because it's simple and understated, but very unique at the same time. Not sure I have an outfit that would coordinate, though, and looking at that sharp point I just know I'd be getting it caught on and unraveling every sweater and long-sleeved shirt I own. Made of sterling silver, 9" around and 2.75" across. $150

Martin Pierce Hardware

$4,000 for door pulls? Martin Pierce's door handles are more art than hardware. His unique designs take their inspiration from the plant and animal world. He makes the original design in jeweler's wax and a lost wax process is used to cast the bronze. The process has to be repeated for each piece. Pierce also makes stunningly beautiful wood furniture that uses similar motifs. The handles make their debut at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago.
