Miu Miu Launches E-Commerce Site

Ladies, get your credit cards ready!
The Italian fashion house Miu Miu has recently launched their e-commerce site. Known for their eclectic and innovative designs against classic silhouettes, Miu Miu consistently creates fashions that make a statement while transcending trends.
Miu Miu's online store features their full collections, online-only exclusives and our personal favorite -- The Fashion Show selection where you can shop looks straight from the runway.
As much as we may love online department stores and luxury e-retailers, let's face it, they don't always have the latest or the widest range of clothing and accessories. The more fashion companies enter the e-commerce race, the better for the consumer. More options equals better selections and deals. Happy shopping!

Felix Rey Love Bird Clutch
Even though it feels like we just survived Christmas and I'm still getting accustom to the fact that we are in the year 2011, it's time to start thinking about our next shopping holiday - Valentine's Day. It sounds crazy but it will be here before you know it.
As an alternative to the typical box of chocolates, or in addition to if you special someone is a chocolate lover, the Love Bird Clutch ($237) by Felix Rey is a gift that will last. It's a quirky yet playful chainmail clutch adorned with two cute love birds about to share a kiss. While the Love Bird is so fitting for Valentine's Day, your special lady could easily wear this throughout the year for evenings out. Measurements: 8.5"W x 5.5"H.

Kenzo Leather Bucket Bag
Kenzo's beautiful light brown voluminous bag is hard to resist. Filled with a healthy dose of texture, bronze rivets and various hues to make it interesting without seeming cluttered and overdone, the Kenzo Leather Bucket Bag ($1325) is a statement bag that could easily be worn daily. The bottom half is styled in faux croc with a pair of zippered and flat pockets while the upper half has smooth calfskin leather with a magnetic flap closure. The double handle is heavily embellished with bronze rivets for a unique look. Personally, I would have done away with brass rivets because it places Kenzo's bag at the edge of looking overdone. Additional features include a detachable shoulder strap and double interior pockets.
Rebecca Ray Designs: Equestrian and Dog Inspired Accessories
Filed under: Apparel, Handbags

Rebecca Ray specializes in handmade couture handbags and fashion accessories inspired by her love of dogs and horses, as well as old-fashioned art and antiques. Her designs vary from colorful ruffled totes like the ones shown here to sophisticated leather satchels, belts, jewelry, and accessories, as well as printed home decor items like pillows and placemats. Many of the bags include removable vintage brooches (if you look closely you can see them above), a choice of over 400 antique images, and are completely hand-sewn by the Amish near Chagrin Falls, Ohio where Rebecca Ray Designs is based.
I love almost everything in her current line but these bags especially caught my eye. Called "The Reilly" on the right and "The Katie" on the left they're essentially boxy little tote/purse hybrids with funky, artistic fabric patterns, pretty ruffles, authentic equestrian hardware, and protective feet on the bottom -- plus of course the antique brooch embellishments and option of vintage images and I mentioned earlier. $545-575.
Devi Kroell Two-Tone Satchel, Handbag of the Day
Filed under: Handbags
If you ever been hesitant to mix black and brown in your outfit, Devi Kroell's Two-Tone Satchel ($1390) will help the lead the way. Using black as the predominant color, various shades of brown are incorporated into the bag's body, while a textured silver rod helps to break up a dark color palette and add a little shimmer. While Kroell's Satchel is on the small side (7" H x 12" W x 5.5" D), the interior, which has a zip pocket and two interior compartments, is roomy enough for your personal items without making the bag bulky.Have tips or suggestions? Exotic Handbags by Jilly New York
Filed under: Handbags

Simple elegance never goes out of style yet it can be difficult to find. It's easy to get caught up in trends and the latest it-'fill in the blank' without taking into consideration what you really want. And I can safely say we all want an item that will stand the test of time; one that we will use and wear for years on end.
And that is the philosophy of Jilly New York. Their motto: Quiet Luxury. Classic Elegance. Exotic Beauty. You can't go wrong with designing from such a sound foundation. Creative Designer Jill Haber says she was inspired by the "desire to find gorgeous handbags that are not embellished with overbearing, heavy hardware or logos. I thought that gorgeous, exotic skin
was the perfect canvas to create easy, chic pieces that complement a woman's style, rather than dictate it."

Hung on U Bags: Model-Designed, Charity-Inclined
Filed under: Handbags, Charity, Celebrity Design

Supermodel Patti Hansen (Mrs. Keith Richards) and her longtime friend, producer/manager, Molly Madden, loved their matching bags throughout the Studio 54 era. These bags were a part of them having so much fun that they took the idea to designer Debi Koppel, the woman behind DKP Designs, and the three of them collaborated to give these '80s-inspired bags new life as Hung on U bags. The bags are simple yet versatile -- they conform to your body, tie in various knots, and fold for easy travel. The 27-bag collection includes varieties in nylon, denim, glitter (shown), suede, and pony, most in small and large sizes ($35 - $300). Hung on U also does does good while doing well: Proceeds are donated to the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation for children's EB, a group of diseases characterized by blister formation after minor trauma to the skin.
The Luxist Top Ten Handbags of 2010

2010 may have been a tough year in a lot of ways, but it was a terrific year for handbags. From divinely sparkling clutches to totes in unheard-of textures, designers were inventive, creative and finally took some risks again -- a sure sign of an improving economy. We're celebrating the return to flamboyance and daring style with a list of our top ten favorites from this year's outstanding Luxist Handbag of the Day collection.
1. Valentino Crystal-Embellished Feather Clutch
Let's begin with the ethereal, exquisite bag above, the Valentino Crystal-Embellished Feather Clutch. These little birdies outdid even the Judith Lieber Enchanted Stardust Clutch with their whimsical glamour, and the feathers are so elegantly and daintily assembled, the clutch eclipsed the ballerina charm of the Valentino Tulle Rosette Bag. We love the coloring; it's as if each perfect feather has been gingerly dipped in the blackest of ink. The pale pink satin structure and lining complete the dream-come-true wonder of this masterful handbag which commanded $4,170.00.
